ZZR1100, heavy?

Hi guys, currently own a ZZR400 and looking to upgrade in the world.

My brother owns a ZZR600 which used to belong to my dad, which ive ridden about a few times and found it comfortable.

My question:

Is it a much bigger jump to the ZZR1100? is it much taller? is it a lot heavier as im only 5 foot 6?

ive tried the search function but not really finding what im after

It is heavier but the weight is nice and low, cant remember the seat height as things like that don't bother me being 6'2".

It will seem lake a big jump as they are ballistic compared to the 400, but the handling is much slower. Lets say your on a speed boat now and your about to jump on a Barge.

They are still awesome bikes though and if your not careful you could lose your licence in an hour.

I ride an old C model. Yes, it's heavy. Given the tricks with the off centre adjusters then you can vary ride height by quite a bit, although it's always going to be a fairly wide bike so if you have short legs it could be a problem.

As Stink says, it's fast. Not in a rip your arms out and beat you to death fashion, more along the lines of an old Jaguar or somesuch. Twist the throttle and all of a sudden you're going an awful lot faster than you expected but with no sense of the bike actually straining. Personally I love it, it's sedate and comfy around town with more than enough grunt to idle along and accellerate happily in whichever gear and if you decide to remove your brain on A roads then it'll go like greased shit (and if you're not too light then it can be set up to handle deceptively well, it's a knack more than anything).

I had a C model with 82k miles on it. Bloody fast for an oldie and quite heavy but not unmanageable and easy to filter too. Plastics will be brittle so don't drop it, and bodywork spares hard to find for c models not too bad for d models.

If you're short in the leg you can roll the chain adjusters round 180-degrees and drop the rear by about 30mm.

Was back at the training school to watch a mate do his CBT on Saturday and chatted away to my old instructor who toured across europe on a fully loaded ZZR1100. Cruised quite merrily at 130 apparently..

I'm thinking that the next bike I pick up will probably be a bigger ZZR, but as the 1100 is too old and the 1200 is not made anymore then it'll have to be the 1400.. .

If the bike doesn't kill me, the wife will..

I had a ZZR 600 and I`m only 5"5 I wanted something a little bigger but not much taller. I don`t like cruisers (no offence intended) so that ruled them out, I`m not a BMW fan so they wern`t a starter either. I got myself a GSX1300R hayabusa, the ride height is 215mm so I had a little taken out of the seat to lower it by 10mm and it is fantastic, very comfy ride used to for a 2 up tour of the Alps and I have no complaints .
I know it has lots of power so do all bikes in relation to their size, YOU control the power so it goes as fast as you let it. If your budget allows you to consider getting one of these, I reccomend you have a serious look at them.

Hi, like everyone says its heavy to push around but on the move its like a magic carpet. Town work can be hard work on a bad day, but for me, the all day comfort beats short crippling rides.
When i put mine away it goes on a bike lift and onto the centre stand with no problems.
