We used to go out when we were 12/13, then lost touch for about 10 years. Became friends with a lad who turned out to be her brother. Within days of meeting again we became a couple. Went out for 9 months, everything was fantastic. She was the only girlfriend i've had who absolutely loved bikes. She used to help me clean my bike and had an awesome sense of humour (she was also drop dead gorgeous.) Recently we both talked about getting married. I'm quite old fashioned about things like this so i asked her parents for her hand in marriage. They were really happy for us. Before i had a chance to propose she broke up with me. She told me that she still had feelings for her ex and that these feelings were a lot stronger than the feelings she had for me. I knew she was good friends with her ex but it didn't bother me. He's a nob who thinks he's "it" 'cos he's got a good job, flash car and loads of money (unlike me). When she was explaining her reasons she showed me some texts he'd sent her saying stuff like "you looked gorgeous today" and similar stuff. I tried to reason with her but she said she never wants to see me ever again and justs wants to forget we ever met. I feel like kicking his head in. This girl was bloody perfect (or so i thought.)

I'm now gonna go out for a ride and just clear my head.

Apologies for the long write up.

Sam.

Forget her mate! If you live in the south east, come out for a drink, and we'll get you a load of girls, and you'll forget what all the fuss was about!

I can relate to what you're saying, and I know how you feel, you have my sympathy, but not a lot will change it really.

Best of luck (and if you do live in the south east, give us a shout! Thumbs Up )

Mate, It never gets easier does it?

Ive got a string of ex's, none of whom talk to me anymore. Each time you think you find someone great theres a problem. If I met my first GF again now and a similar thing happened I would be just as gutted.

Its hard mate but you just have to move on and start again. Try and concentrate on those things she did/had that made you compromise in the first place and be glad you aint having to put up with it anymore. Theres people out there, although hard to find, that deserve the loyalty and affection you have to give. Its not something youve done wrong and its not even this guys fault. She will make her own decisions and thats that unfortunately. Take one day at a time and find someone new and exciting. Women are harsh bud, its always going to happen. One thing ive learnt is that you never know what life will throw up next.

Thumbs Up

cheers for that guys. I guess the best thing to do is forget about her but its easier said then done. I've just ragged the life of my bike and it felt fantastic, everything on my mind just seemed to disappear.
I think more of the same tomorrow.

Know how your feeling mate, not gonna patronise you by saying things like just get on with it and forget her etc, it does mess you up.

Don't, it's not his fault.

Breaking up always hurts, it's like a bereavement in a way. Someone that was a major part of your life isn't there anymore, it takes time to get over something like that. She's right in a way, a clean break will generally heal quicker than "staying friends" and getting tortured every time you see or hear from her. Take your time and grieve for your loss if you need to, wallow in self-pity if it helps, why not?

Sometimes it's easier to break up with someone by hurting them a lot ("I have no feelings for you") than a little ("I still love you but not enough") because it extinguishes hope.

You are young, and it's a big world out there. May not seem like it now but there are other girls, and at least one of them is going to be better cos if your ex wasn't "the one" then "the one" is still out there somewhere waiting for you! Thumbs Up

I thought people who thought like that were extinct!

dont worry, he will get revenge on her for you

he will be nice to her for a bit, then say he doesnt want a relationship, and he just wants her as a fuckbuddy

she will cry, and at that stage you can either take her back saying all is forgiven, or be very smug and laugh Smile

i think the best way to get over her, is not to dwell on her good points, but on her bad points

you are better off without the bitch

however once you have healed, try to drop the cynical bitter attitude, as it tends to be offputting to future conquests

If you make a girl look at the future like that, as in, you talk marriage.
Things can either get a whole lot better, or just fuck up completely.

They are that shallow sometimes, they will look at the +/- and make a decision.

It happend to my mate, she went out with the nancy boy with an Elise, then he dumped her, guess who she came back to. Rolling Eyes

If its any consolation to your current situation.

My ex lives across the corridor from me in student accomodation.
Made me jealous about having a new bf by repeatedly telling me she still loved me etc etc every day then rushing over to his.
Has shagged two of my close mates, partly my fault as she was so lonely i sent in people i knew to cheer her up Rolling Eyes.
And shes been trying to go out with both of them too.

Women. Snakes with tits the lot of them.
