All looks a bit grim today so here is an antidote.
Picked up the ER6F from Mimsbury service station (about 70 miles from me.
Last years, 6 months old 3K miles. Lots of warranty left. With top box...yes I know but it's useful and I have the OEM grab handles if I want to take it off. Extended screen again I have the OEM. Oxford heated grips. Might take those off for the summer.
Black and red.
First impressions.
Very comfy although I was a bit nervous so probably not as relaxed as I should have been.
Front brakes, bloody hell I knew they would be better than the GPZ 500 but they almost threw me off at the first set of lights. I was a little more progressive for the rest of the trip
Pissed off a few drivers beind me getting to know the lower gearing/steering...Oh well never mind. Did some nice twistys off the motorway big grins
Fuel tank seems tiny and it bloody makes it clear when you are running low. Flashing lights LCD. All its missing is a voice shouting "You are almost out of petrol you twat".
The mirrors are, as the reviews say, rubbish. On the Motorway sections, even after stopping and adjusting them 3 times, leave about a 50 yard blind spot directly behind you. So lots of lifesavers. Which is fine but on the very busy M3 a little scary. I will be out to get the extensions in the morning.
Engine...Eeeeerm fantastic. Very forgiving.
Gearbox usual Kwak, bit clunky at low revs but fine.
Handling seems fantastic but until I've done some more slow speed stuff I'll hold judgement (mainly A roads Motorway today). But it seems happy to go where you point it.
So all in all very pleased. Cheers Glyn if you are on this board.
