Hey All.

Im looking for some advice, i have been looking around for a
good open faced crash helmet, i have a full face one, but i really like the US style 'Easyrider' type ones. The one i want is D.O.T approved, which i take it is the US saftey standard.?

Can i wear it in this country .. ???

Black one with red flames!!

Thanks for your time guys'n Galls Very Happy

Hi

Legally no you couldn't use it. However you are unlikely to get done for it. I used an Australian lid for a few years without ever getting any hassle, and that had an Aus visor as well, not one with a BS stamp on it.

All the best

Keith

Hey cheers mate,

I went into the local bike store here and had a look on the back of all the new lids and they now have a european mark. I was thinking of just pealing the sticker of my Full faced lid and sticking it on the US one ... naughty but hey .. Wink Embarassed

My helmet doesn't have an ACU mark, which I've been assured they check for at track days, but i've nver had it checked. Can't see the police knowing about it, nevermind doing anything about it.

Just remeber to only use it when you're taking it easy... if you like your chin that is Smile

Personally I'd agree, but then some people have said that about me Confused Confused, so I shan't crticise.

However, looking at the link, the police may pay a bit more attention to something like that. On the way to box onxw I saw some old bloke on an old bike with a leather helmet! 'Old Skool'! Razz

Thanks Jon if i wanted reasurance over my sexuality i would have asked Laughing I personally think that bright green and red coloured bike boots (as made by Alpine, etc..?)are somewhat suspect too Wink

Its a cool lid and true to the spirit of the american harley engine power (thats in my bike).

I guess i have to expect a certain amount of P*** taking over it, but hey, each to thier own, thats what makes the world go round after all ... right ..?
