Yesterday i noticed a distinct lack of power when winding on the throttle it just judders at about 3k. Kept having to change gear to keep the revs down.

My mates dad changed the chain and sprockets yesterday and ive noticed it since then.

Its been leaking oil for a while but not lots dont know if this is connected to it.

After starting it up on the centre stand today after reving it it died.

Its been cutting out when i first start it and drop it into first.

Now my mum suggested dirty plugs which im going to check but it idles fine it just wont rev.

Any ideas guys please?

When did you last look at the air filter?

It wouldn't be impossable. Divvys especially have been known to dump a load of oil into the airboxes through the crankcase breather on occasion which does nothing for their ability to draw air into the engine. Not saying that's the problem but it's worth having a look in there anyway.

Not knowing it had one means it may not have been cleaned/replaced for some time? It might have done what the one in my GPZ did and now has loads of foam bunging up the carbs. Embarassed

Don't really know. You might be able to take the top or side off the airbox. Not really sure what else would need removing to get at it because I've never worked on a divvy.

The crankcase breather will be a tube running between the top of the engine and the airbox (usually directly under the carbs in the middle.).

What concerns me is that your air filter could be in a shit state. You can't tell unless you physically look at it. It is a routine service part and so should be reasonably easy to get at.
