Well today was quite an eventful day for me, the insurance bloke turned up and said my bike is a category C write off. I asked him if I can keep the bike and he said yea ok its £200. I jumped at it so I now own a bent blade. At lunch time i set to work on it taking all the old broken bits off her and i've actually discovered that it only needs a new front end, new rad and new front pipes for the zorst, oh and the fairing is non excitant so i'm going for the streetfighter look at the moment I think. I have 4 main ideas what to do with the bike at the moment, first it could be streetfighterd which wouldn't cost much to do and it would be a good winter hack, second it could be a stunt bike which would cost about the same to do really, third it could be a track bike as my little kr1s is now G`s or lastly i could get hold of new fairings for it on ebay and get them sprayed up and do the bike up properly.

Well thats good news Very Happy And £200 is a damn bargin.

I'd keep it on the road. Its worth a lot more that way. Get the front end, and get it on the road now on the cheap with just a basic small light etc. Then keep a watch on ebay for some fairings and
then get them on there. or get some from a breakers. Blades are common, it should be a very easy task Very Happy

Me thinks track bike untill you bin it (which may be never). once you have (or if you) binned it on the track make it your stunt bike.

Idea

I have already got hold of a front end for it for £300 so thats half the battle. The front end which i got consists of forks, yokes, carbon mud guard, 17 inch wheel 3 spoke (ex firestorm) disks and calipers. Its the whole lot ready to just bolt on.

I have access to 2 sets of Blade downpipes. One is a full race system, and the other is a set of stock pipes with a race can. Give me a shout if you want either of them, and I'll see how much he wants for it.

I personally don't see the point of spending money on making it look original, as most people will see the "Cat C" and run a mile. Streetfighter or stunt bike I say.

I also have a few Blade bits and spares lying around.

Yeah, Street fighter it, shouldn't cost you much to get it back on the road and you could make it more individual. Of course once street fightered it would also make a great stuntbike Very Happy

I need standard downpipes (without the can if it makes it cheaper) a rad and a rear brake leaver and maybe a gear lever too. Oh and one of those clock mountain brackets wouldn't go a miss.

I've got a set of standard pegs. The downpipes are stock, but the collector bit has been modified to be a sort of slip-on system. I'm sure that you'll be able to something with it, especially with the use of stuff from work.

You don't want that one Dean mate, it's an old 8-spoke, which aren't particularly good apparently.

Go for this one instead:

I'd Streetfighter it, only problem is that to make them look good is by spending shit loads of cash otherwise they look cheap with twin headlight etc.

You could turn it into a stunt bike as this costs practically nothing and they look the dogs bollocks. But you'd look like a twat riding a stunt bike and not being able to pull off any stunts Razz Laughing

Thats the point in getting a stunt bike in the first place, it gives you something to practise on.

Well you cant argue for that price and theres no point making it look all fancy if its goin to be a stunt bike as you should expect to bin it loads of times. from troal and error. When you get good then put more money into making it loook nice Very Happy

I think he might consider using it for practising wheelies and stoppies etc... which is considered a form of stunt.
