I'm pretty sure the tomahawk was Dodges` baby, unless dodge is a subsidiary of chrysler?
I'm pretty sure the bikes engine came out of a dodge viper 7.2 litre?

Chrysler bought Dodge and kinda ate it up. So Dodge is now Chrysler. It is indeed the Viper engine.

They sometimes call them Chrysler Vipers or Dodge Vipers but the takeover happened about 7 years ago I think.

I suspect the Tomahawk will be crap round corners. It has four wheels and apparently will not allow for 'leaning in' or counter steering. A car with no body if you will.

Also I'm sure I read that the viper engine is a V-10 8 litre.

doesn't it actually lean over to about 40 degrees or something? I know it does lean a set amount as its designed in to the way the wheels work.

I think I'll stick with my NSR as I might have some money left after paying the insurance premium. Oh and I might actually survive on an NSR too Smile

The turbine would win in a drag race.

Torque: 425 ft lbs @ 2,000 rpm

redline at 52,000 rpm.

Estimated Top Speed: 250 mph
1/4 Mile: 9.80 @ 160 mph
0-227 mph in 15.0 sec.

Regards,
Kevo.

I just had a thought. Where the hell is the fuel tank on the Tomahawk? A huge engine like that must drink like a pisshead on a Friday night!

when the tomahawk was released as a concept bike early some time this year, it was mentioned that the bike was and still is designed to be able to lean the full 45 degrees, like any other bike....... Wink

isn't there a delay in the throttle due to the nature of the turbine engine?
start off, give it a little bit of poke to get some speed up, open the throttle more to see what it can do...2 seconds later shut off the throttle before you cack yourself...and half a second later it finally starts to wind down.
read a review of someone riding it ages ago, but i can't remember any details other than the throttle lag.

IT'S A BLOODY HELICOPTER ENGINE!!!

The tomahawk has independent computer-controlled suspension on each wheel, but for the show rides it's been used for so far, the arms have been locked together. If i remember correctly, it was almost binned at the last FOS at Goodwood because of it! Shocked

Hi

Suspect a gas turbine would have interesting throttle responses. They have been tried (years ago) in race cars and needing to plan throttle actions a few seconds in advance was (strangely) found to be a bit of a problem.

All the best

Keith

Yeah I read that as well. Stop twisting, and it keeps going for a few seconds. Scary!
