Brake Lever - I Failed!

Ok so I've failed at the first hurdle. I'm trying to replace the brake lever on my CBR600F and I'm having a few problems, can anyone help because its a georgous day out there and I want to go play

Ok so I got the new brake lever from my local dealer, not quite what I expected, I have to remove a part from the old lever. This is what I got from the dealer.

I have to remove this part and add it to the new lever but I cant get it off.

They have supplied me with a new spring, good job as I think I've buggered the old one

Has anyone got any ideas on how I can get it off?

I won, phoned my local Honda dealer who talked me through it for 10 minutes on the phone! Star chaps and now I'm back out on the road
