Donington WSB (Spoilers)

Just got back from Donington and had an amazing day. It was my first trip to Donny on a bike after years of doing it in cars and the difference it made was amazing. No queuing to get on or off for the first time ever

The weather was amazing and we saw some excellent racing...watching JT win the first race in comfort thanks to Bayliss' finger-removing crash early in the race was great. Shame the bike let him down in the second race though.

Even managed to enjoy some twisties on the way home in glorious sunshine. Cool day indeed.

I was also there, and have to say im glad i only payed £1.50 for it, altho the racing was top class i didnt enjoy being sat round for half hour between races, club racing i prefer cos its constant track time.

What time did you leave then? We had to wait ages to get away!

And yeh the roads round this way are well nice in the sun, some of my fave twisties are on the way to donni

How the feck did you manage to get in for 1.50? I paid thirty-quid in advance and STILL had to queue for ages to collect my ticket 'cos they only had 1 person at the Coppice box-office.

I left after JT went awol in the second race.

I'm off to Silverstone in May and can't wait. Hope the weather is good.

Watching the qualifying made me realise the gap between MotoGP and WSB. In WSB, under heavy braking the bikes were bouncing all over the place.....

But it's nice to see top riders riding bikes a lot closer to what we ride on the roads. Makes you really appreciate their talent.

(Not taking anything away from the Rossi's and Haydens of this world, obviously).

Yup me and my Bro had a good day frozen solid getting there at 8:30 am (summer gloves DOH) took me til 10:30 to warm up. By the end I had a red sunburnd forhead LOL, great weather. Shame about toselands bike on the 2nd race saw a few people leave after that (why not wait till the end of the race???)
I agree the wait between supersport and 2nd superbike race was annoying I prefer watchin on telly to be honest although the sound of those Dukes roaring past is something else sounds like a Spitfighter. Might give the GP a try later in the year.
Nightmare getting out onto the motorway (left after the 2nd race 4:30 ish) we were 3 abreast nose to tail, didn't think you could get congestion when bikes were involved (temporary taffic lights at the end causing it)

I went to the qualifying session. No crowds, No queing, loads of room to move about and still the feeling and excitment of being there . Day after i watch the race on the box and i can see the whole race.

got in for £1.50 cos im in a club at the uni which heavily subsidises trips like that, partially cos im on committee and so tell them to.

Was good staying til the very end, the cheer as Biaggi went wide on the very last corner was funny. Left after the final race (Superstock 600) and there were still massive tailbacks to get away, thankfully a knowledge of the backroads helps a bit!
