What category is a ybr 125

Hi everybody

I am nearly 18 and looking to buy a 125 bike and then take my test. I have heard there are two types of test i can do

1. a light bike test that will allow me to ride a 125 of up to 14.6bhp with a pillion passenger. I have read that to get this i need a bike between 75cc and 125cc

2. a standard test that will allow me to ride a bike up to 33bhp with a pillion. after two years i will be able to ride any size motorbike. I have read that to get this i need to pass on a bike between 121cc and 125cc that will do a speed of at least 100kph.

I have been looking at getting a yamaha ybr 125 but I am unsure as to which category this bike will fall under. It seems that if it does 100kph that I will get a standard license or if it doesn't I will get a light license. Ideally I would prefer a standard license.

2. What category is the ybr 125 come under

They're both the same test, done on the same bikes, you can do 33BHP test on a YBR125, the 125 only test is exactly the same but you can only ride a 125 afterwards.

there are already numerous posts on test/licence types, but in summary,

you can ride a bike solo, under 125cc, on your provisional license -only cbt needed.

you can do a test to allow you to ride a 125cc with pillion, and at 70mph, on motorways.

you can do a test to allow you to ride any bike under 33bhp for 2 years, and then ride any bike after that,

or finally you can do a test to allow you to ride any bike immediatly.

Just do the standard test, the light test is a waste of time and money.
