Help! ...me choose a bike

Lo all,

Having great difficulty choosing a bike. Im after something sporty, in the 600cc range (and considering 750's as well). I know its the wrong time of year, but I want/need/demand a better bike before the weather really does take off.

Bike wont last me long, as Im expecting a winfall soon and will upgrade to a new bike then. But for the price of my bandit Im looking for something that suits my riding better. Ive been offered £1950 PX by StreetBike (against a new GSX-R 600) and my budget can stretch to £2200 at a push. Post '98 is also a kind of requirement for me as well.

Insurance isnt really a factor.

Ive narrowed down my list to:

Suzuki GSX-R 600
Suzuki GSX-R 750
Honda CBR 600 RR (or F, dont really see a difference, what is it?)
Kawasaki ZX6R
Kawasaki ZX7R
Yamaha R6
Yamaha Thundercat
Yamaha Fazer 600 if its the 'Cat engined one
Triumph TT600
Triumph Daytona 595/600/675(I wish! )

Leaning towards the Gixer 750 but Im having trouble finding one for decent enough money thats new enough and in decent conndition.

Is there any I'm missing out on? I like the idea of the VFR's, but would prefer an all in all sportsbike.

Im gonna say the GSXR's or the kwak's.

I love the gix because even the srad's are a good nutters bike that will eat up the miles calmly when you want them too.

Recommend the 750 too.

Personally I'd try for the CBR600F, compared to the CBR600RR it's a bit tamer and more 'tourey', which might be a bit better coming from a Bandit. But you wouldn't be getting far over a 1998.

I'd go for the CBR-F, considering you may not have it for long, you won't really loose too much more money when you come to sell it. Plus it's a decent bike for sporty-all-round-goodness.

for me it would be a choice between the CBR600RR or the GSX600 both excellent bikes.

Personally i'd go for the gsx-r 750.

You won't get an RR for 2200.

Get a CBR600F 98 steel framed version, or the 99 alloy framed version, should be able to get higher mileage ones in your price range.

Maybe a GSXR 600 SRAD 99 and possibly a tatty GSXR600 K1.

Saw a GSX-R 600 (1999 on a T Plate) for £2200 today, at a dealer. Parkers list £2230 for an independant dealer. Lowish milage at 15k, and in a very good state of repair. Loads of tread, all the consuables seemed to be ok for another 5k atleast.

Only blemish was that he would not take a PX for my bandit (he would on any other bike) said "He was selling it for someone". Sounds a little fishy to me, any insight into that?
