Hi. This afternoon was the "Big North Meet" at Squires Cafe. There was a good turn up, approx 15 people, give or take, and a special guest appearance from our very own Stinkwheel
On the way home whilst travelling down the motorway I saw a biker pushing his bike in the distance, so pulled up along side him and asked him if I could be assistance. Turned out he had run out of petrol so I decided to let him have a coke a cola bottles (500ml) worth of petrol siphoned from my tank and he was up and running again. I didn't want any money for the petrol just a "Cheers mate" was enough for me and in the hope that if I ever broke down in the future someone would be kind enough to pull in and help me.
But what annoyed was the fact that at least 20 bikers went past and not one pulled over to see if we were ok. Just like the time when I broke down last year a few miles from home on the motorway and not one biker stopped and helped. So much for this "Bikers stick together bollocks" ____________________ Humans....the largest form of cancer the world has ever seen!

tbh a real "biker" with a sred of solidarity (not a posey twat) would have stopped if he saw some poor sod pushing a bike up a hill.
(not that I'd bring up the real biker/not, got to say this would be a pretty good test if ever there was one)
Good work stoping, i've had to push my fecking heavy bike up a hill before and watched at least 5 "bikers" fly past ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

when i crashed the first time, my bike was upside down in a roundabout, i was standing there trying to get it back on the rubber and off the flower bed, and a bike came along, went round the roundabout, looked at me, and then sped off into the distance. i was well pissed off. about 30-40 cars passed too before anyone stopped to help me.
i always stop, usually just interrupt a guy phoning his wife, or taking a roadside pish, but better safe than sorry lol ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,

On the way to Lydden in my van I stopped for a biker who run out of petrol - he did look a bit confused when I stopped, until I opened the van doors to get a jerry can, revealing two bikes "ah, that explains it then".
He mentioned beliving in karma and "what goes around what comes around" etc when I refused payment; I then got a puncture on the van, crashed twice while racing, got hit in the back by another bike doing over 50mph while lying on the floor then the van wheel almost fell off and I got home after 4pm.
My usual problem with stopping is working out if they actually need help - usually I do stop and find they're just having a fag or something .
Hopefully that good luck will come back for my next race weekend - though I'm happy that I've had help from others who have done way more than expected to help! |

Good on ya Unfortunately not all bikers seem to care
I remeber getting a flat tyre on the way to work one morning. 10 bikes passed me without even looking and God knows how many cars. I had to push the bike 3 miles back to my friends house.
The other monring on the way to work i noticed a kid with a moped at the side of the road. I was already late for work but decided to turn round and go see if he was OK. Turned out he had a flat tyre and was waiting for the recovery truck to turn up.
I always stop for bikes, even if its to offer my phone or give them a lift to the petrol station.
Cheers,
Shaun. |

I always stop for bikers, and I've always got tiedowns and a ramp in the van.

I wondered that myself Jamie Stokes. He was following me pretty close and I was doing 70-80mph. So 500ml-1/2 a litre of petrol would have been gone in no time I think ____________________ Humans....the largest form of cancer the world has ever seen!

The chain decided to give up on me today (yeah, totally forgot to get the split link done) and snapped, I was amazed by the number of bikers who rode past waving or nodding... Why??
One guy did stopped on his Yamaha to make sure I was alright, though. Thank you random man!

Yeh, it is an offence to stop on the motorway when you're out of fuel. The only reason why the police didn't charge me was because i said i wasn't familiar with the bike because i only had it for a day. They checked the records with the DVLA and realised it wasn't registered to me, but it was insured under my name and they suggested i either call break down or walk to the nearest exit (2 miles away)... so i walked, and some dude on a fireblade saw me push my bike and decided to pull up. He then pused my bike by supporting the pillion peg with his feet and pushed up a fuck off hill on the m1 before reaching the services I was very relieved. He buggered off before i had the chance to say thanks and buy him a coffee . Man i was well thankful for that gentleman's deed, since i was due to see my folks off at heathrow airport that evening! (i did do a silly long post about this) ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1
