V62

Hi all,

I sent off my V62 for my bandit about 3 weeks ago and still have not heard anything the bike is due to be ready to go on the road very soon should i be concerened or is it normal for it to take this long?

Took them seven weeks to do mine.

I called them after five weeks (it said to wait six on the form).

Turns out I had put the wrong postcode on it (My work and home ones are very similar). Being the shower of lackadaisical, ignorant numbskulls I always knew them to be, it was too much like hard work to simply enter the address I had carefully written out in block capitals.

Two weeks after that, the form finally arrived. Much to my amazement, they sucessfully spelled my surname correctly at the first time of asking for the first time in 12 years. They did however get the colour wrong (black instead of green, again, printed in block capitals on the form).

In all honesty, I just rode the bike without tax in the intervening period. It was MOTed and insured. If they are too fucking incompetant to process my paperwork (a service for which they charge) in a timely fashion and have no mechanism in place to tax it until I have said paperwork, they can take their tax disc and shove it up their collective arse.

The way I see it, if they haven't delivered the V5, that means the oft quoted 'all seeing' DVLA computer hasn't been told who and where I am and as a result can 'see' nothing. I was prepared to argue the toss with a copper if I was stopped, I'm sure they've had enough dealings with the DVLA to accept my explanation.
