Well over the weekend gave my bike some TLC, changed the oil, cleaned the filters, took the chain off, cleaned, degreased it, put it back (eventually - very tricky - fasteners for the chainguard are siezed tight and rounded off and will not budge) and lubed it, and upped the tension a bit.
So set off for work this morning. What a difference. Felt like a different bike. Clutch is smoother, acceleration brisker, whole bike just feels tighter and more solid underneath me.
So have come to a conclusion. Bikes are not like cars where you only have to open the bonet every 10,000 miles. They need some attention and looking after. But they do appreciate it. ____________________ SR125 -> 6 year gap -> SV650 -> Deauville -> NC750X -> Vstrom 650 |
