I have noticed most insurers ask if I am a member of BMF or MAG. Would being a member of either help or hinder my quote?

Regards.

I found that it knocked £15 off my insurance quote by being a BMF member.

Although the BMF membership cost me £25 for the year.

[OFF Topic]

I'll be signing up with MAG this year instead as BMF seem to be a little "meh" about certain bike related political issues.

They will get you cheaper insurance. If you tell them you are a member of the HA or the KKK you will get charged more.

Often you'll get a discount if you're just a member of your own marque club, e.g. for Ducatis, Ducati Owners Club, Monster Owners Club or Ducati Sporting Club. Not quite sure why, but I'm happy to claim my discount! Mr. Green

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

They give the blue riband for the fastest Atlantic crossing.
So some achievement on a motorcycle. Well done Wink Very Happy

They probably think it's some nice ribbon to attach to the bike to make it look nice.

...sorry, slow day Embarassed

P.S. Fully aware a blue riband is a mark of the top status

So that'll be £1220 FC on a R6 with Bennetts then... Sick They were wanting over a grand for a Hornet.

I'm relatively new to this forum...have any of you ever reached a general consensus on the cheapest and/or best insurance companies?
