most katanes have a fixed jet, so you might need an aftermarket carb. But get it set up ASAP or you will be fooooked Exclamation

70cc big bore peds are nothing un-usual. Me and all my mates were running 70 kits and numerous mods.

dam_buster was running a 70cc MHR kit on his katana. He had an S reg, And we managed to Up jet the carb, So it wasn't fixed.

Running a 2-stroke too lean will eventually cause the engine to self destruct. Get it sorted asap, and get a bigger jet put in there.

my query was, how many are riding illegally before they crash/get hit and have no insurance cover. There is reasons they are built/sold as 50cc's, not just because the law says the be ridden by 16 year old on a provisional.

im sorry but that is one fugly bike! Laughing

tbh the katana ped is ugly also!

running a 70 kit, will require re-jetting, and a open filter. will need to get it sorted soon, other wise you will fook that engine.

Dont need to run an open filter, As said the 'Katana' has a fixed jet so a bigger/better carb should be on the cards.

You should know that they are known to be the worst scooters in terms of tune-ability, Styling isnt awe-inspiring either...

I'm 17 and knew about the real Katana's way before the scooters, Know which one i'd rather have Smile

i had one of them wen my pug went into a side of a car.

It looked horrible went horrible and handles really bad. One thing that drove me crazy is it drank petrol like no tommorow and the cap was a really big pain to get off. Lets say i was happy to wave it goodbye Laughing

my carb was adjusted to suit the mhr 70 kit.

it was also the fastest accelerating ped in kent, and was rapid right through to top speed,

only thing letting the katana down is its downgeared therefore not a very high top end, and its cdi is restricted, get those sorted and ur away!

or just save your money and buy a big bike,
