Anybody care to identify my bike buying problem? ,(half rant / half asking a question).

X2 CBR600s and also a ZX6R went during the moring I was going to call them at luncg to book a viewing (bosses do not trust us here so the net is turned off outside lunch hours).

I've missed loads and loads of bikes now , often gone before I get to see them , I see a bike have a tad bit of interest it suddenly is the MOST sought after item in the universe.

Anybody care to share their buying advice with me?

And no I'm not willing to travel more than 40 miles (cus if I hadn't travelled to see all these junk bikes that people lie about I'd have at least £700 more to buy a bike yes sir its MINT 120 miles later its a dog)

and yes I do have a wad of cash to pay instantly for things.

Other than taking holidays to go see bikes which in itself is also a problem cus they tend to get sold the second my holiday request is approved.

Getting annoyed now,

Any thoughts

Thanks

Maybe you should go through a dealer. Sounds like there's too much competition for the cheaper private deals.

Get up earlier, makes sure you're bike is working Laughing Wink

Seriously though, I guess if a bike looks like a reasonable deal and you're interested in it others are bound to be attracted to it to as well. Maybe you trying too hard for the ultimate bargin?

What happened with the VFR750's? And good luck with the ZX6R, I love those bikes...

Doubtful , I express interest in a rat bike and it gets sold instantly , I was looking at a GT550 '91 as a support bike lately it was
sold the day bike trader came out maybe I should get dealers to pay me to look at their bikes.

VFR750s - over priced and I felt it was NC30 all over again , ie an old bike that is no longer produced and thus in high demand
thus hard to find and or overpriced, looked at 14 , most were sold before I looked , some were bad condition , others were too highly
priced for what they were 3.5K for a 72,000 mile bike no way!.

As said I really check over a bike before buying as I will pay good money for a good bike but not good money for a bad bike and it
seems most bikes are bad for wayy too much money. I work hard and unplesant jobs for my money thus am careful.

I'd have never bought A1's NC30 I'd have spotted all his problems and probably have done a fruit on him.

Since looking at nigh 100s of bad bikes wrongly described I automatically take a harder line ie 99% of sellers are liars at best they
are A1 motorcycles type, at worst Tony Blair types.

Its pretty simple 100s of checks are not needed, just look at the engine oil , pitch black? = bad bike and all the rest of the
"new bits" are lies. I mean oil is like £10 to change , you can't be botherd to spend £10 how can I trust your lies about new C&S
pads etc?.

Fazers were an exception , really VGC , but as said not my cup of tea,

I was only kidding about my bike. I'd already worked out that you'd have run a mile. Sorta wish I'd have done a fruit on A1 with my bike... But in a sadistic sort of way I'm glad I got a heap of junk, as on a personal note if I had always got newer, good condition bikes, I'd probably never have learned a single thing about working on them other than how to change the oil (maybe I won't be saying that in 6 months time - who knows).

Do feel like I should point out to the wider audience that the guy at A1 Motorcycles Preston shouldn't be trusted one little bit, as he was happy to sell me a heap of junk while smiling and lying to me about it at the same time.

Sure you'll find a good ZX6R pretty soon though... The odds have got to be alot better! Catch ya about... pretty sure I've seen your NTV parked around Manchester a few times recently, never seen a rider with it though.

oil is the cheapest and nearly easiest thing to replace on a bike , if a dealer says its been serviced and hasn't even changed this then you know hes lying. Oil is golden , black oil (it should never get completely black as crude) means its had negelected oil changes and thus negelected high probability everything else.
