Well, i am quite short of cash but i do have a job. At the moment i work in a phone company cold calling people and i get paid anything per week from £45 to my highest £190 for 9 hours work.
Naturally I started looking on how to make money via ebay etc... so i can get my bike asap and i stumbled across "PAID SURVEYS".

I looked at the sites and they pay you to do surveys but you pay something like £16 and then they pay u monthly between £2 - £70 per survey which apparently take you "5 minutes to do". Has anyone ever tried this? And if so is it worth it? also anyone got any other suggestions for making a quick few bob.

Cheers anywho!
Gareth

P.S Just search "surveyhawlk" into goggle and you will see what i mean or "paid surveys"

Seems to good to be true and it probably is.

Why would you have to pay someone before they let you wok for them??

apparently its a "start up price" sounds like a francize kind of thing. I have no idea, i thought fair enough if i can earn a quid or two while i cant sleep in the middle of the night i shall.
I tried the free ones where you dont have to pay to sign up and so far im 7 surveys away from a £5 hmv voucher -- pointless.

Ahwell eh!
I could just imagine as u join and pay the £16 a message comes up on your computer saying "OWNED".

Cheers,
Gareth

I actually paid to join one of these things, it was only £18. What you get is a big list of companies, you sign up to as many of these companies as you like, and then they tell you about the surveys they're doing. But in my experience, 99% are either completely irrelevant, full, or require you to go to London. They have rigorous screening processes. For example, there was a 'Car Drivers' Survey'. I checked it out, it was a discussion group in London for people who drove a particular Mercedes. There was a cigarettes smokers' one - again you have to go to London, but the only reward was 2 packs of cigarettes a year.

Every now and then you get an online survey, but even if you do get through the screening process, it's about a £2 reward.

In short, it was money down the drain for me, I wouldn't recommend it. It's not often I get burnt, but I did that time.

To be honest, if you have the time, I think eBay is the easiest way to make a bit of spare cash. My manager at my old job made a bit on the side by buying balls of wool wholesale and selling them on eBay. She made about a 300% profit margin, so pretty good.

BUy WholeSale do you mean bought things in bulk and then sold separately? (excuse my lack of knowledge)
I know my cousin does a bit of it, finds things in the wrong categorys , buys them then re-sells them in the right categorys.

Cheers though,
Gareth

I'm with www.ciaosurveys.com and have made about £50 in a year, as the surveys are usually from about 50p to £2, so you won't get rich.

But, I've also had loads of free shampoos, cosmetics, toiletries, detergents, drinks (incl alcoholic), as well as vouchers for services. All I have had to do in return has been to fill in a max two-page questionnaire about the product, and once I was invited to a small focus group, but was on holidays so couldn't make it (that would have been a £100 reward). I have never been asked to pay anything, and haven't been inundated with spam either. Once your account shows £10, you can request them to credit it to your bank account.

The key is to say you've got this and that, and you're very interested in loads of things, that way you'll be sent more surveys.

Edit: just to clarify: this is free, you don't have to pay to take part in surveys and they even ask you to contact them should anybody ask you for a payment.

If you have to pay out, then what they're offering probably isn't worth it and is much more of a scam (in this case you can probably get the info they're offering for free).

punch mystery shopper into your search engine, there are sites in the U.K.
I contract for one here in Oz, go out to macca's, dept stores, all sorts of places, ... you get to eat/keep what you buy AND get paid for it...

Best bit is, ... NO payment to join.. making on average (aus) $70-120 a week.

it works but you'll never make much out of it , I made £15 once by lying to a marketting company in Bury, which has an office opposite the railway station (the antique one) , you get called in every few months for people to access the impact of adverts.

cost nowt to join , but you do get lots of annoying calls everyso often.
