Yeah, i have long hair, and yes i have a hair band.

But at 80 when you think you put your lid over the thing and didn't so it starts slipping off, and can't be bothered to pull over, what did i do?

pull it off before it falls off, yeah good, but then where do you put it? Idea
Oh yeah, in your mouth. Rolling Eyes

So for the next 25 minutes my hair's flapping about like a goodun and i can taste shampoo.

Not too bad methinks, but 3 days later i still can't get the bastard knots out of my hair. Doh!

In all the years of biking, this has never happened, just a word of warning to riders with long hair, it feels nice and very Easy Riderish, but the aftermath is a swine.Crying or Very sad

Cheaper on shampoo as well, just give it a flick with the chamois leather. Mr. Green

I use washing up liquid (ASDA own brand) looks a bit like shampoo but a lot cheaper and it gets grease off.

My hairs a little bit long and so it sticks out the bottom of my helmet, and yeh I see what you mean about the knots, I don't think I've had knot free hair for.. well over a year now, its not long enough to put a hair band in so I just deal with it.

Cut off your long hair?
Wear your hair in a net?
Use hair slides placed strategicly to prevent your hair flapping?
Wear a condom on your head with your hair inside.
(Warning: wearing a condom on your head will not prevent pregnancy.... Shocked )
Take the bus?
Go slower than 80mph
Tuck your hair down the back of your jacket?
Failing that...just accept it...theres nothing you can do.

Best of luck
Very Happy

If you mean hair bobble and not hair band, just make sure it's tight up to the back of your head, then if you don't want knots put another one at the end of your hair to stop it flapping about.

I find if you grab hold of your hair while it's still in a pony tail after a ride and brush just the pony tail the knots come out a lot easier than if you let your hair down and do it that way.

Use intensive conditioner. I don't always tie my hair back, and my hair's half way down my back, and it doesn't knot more than it does in a normal day without going on the bike. Or maybe my hair is just lucky.. Razz

I usually wack them in a Buff , which holds them down inside my jacket neck and keeps me chin warm, the only down side is when i take my helmet off i look like a nan!!!

Wear a doo rag or a bandana. I've got longish kinda hair and tucking the hair in my bandana just sorts it out. The bandana knot is just below the bottom of the helmet so it causes no pain or discomfort. Since most of the hair is tucked into the bandana, it stays in place and often gets soft - reminds me of those salon hair heaters. As a result, you can take off your lid and stroke your hair with finesse afterwards. With the righ bandana, you'd look like a badarse, but if you borrow your mummy's scarf, you will no doubt look like a UTTER TWAT and everybody at the ace cafe will laugh at you! Laughing (no, this aint personal experience) - bandanas all the way

And FOR FUCK'S SAKE, if you're emo, you shouldn't be on a bike - it's not cool! Having the emo fringe over your eye whilst riding is one form of darwinism! Wink

Having long hair is cool, cos it makes other road users think you're a lass, so they flirt cos ur wearing sexy tight leathers. And then wideboy in a BMW loses his boner when he gets beaten by a chick on a 600 (apprently). I let my hair loose - i might dye the tips blonde soon so it looks even more alluring to other road users.

Wotcha.

Unless you have a screen fitted - then your beard blows uphill, which looks even more ridiculous.
I've found that plaiting the thing and hanging something on the end works a treat - trust me on this one Wink
