need to convert some bowling video's so they can be hosted and watched Very Happy any ideas please

yeha i have downloaded 4 programs that ask you to register and only last 30-40 seconds..

Tried downloading the same programs from Bittorrent? They usually have a crack included.

MP4 is MPEG, its MPEG 4 though.

Do you know what kind of MPEG encoding you want? MPEG 1 or MPEG 2 would be my guess. What kind of wrapper do you want? Avi? Quick time?

MPEG 3 doesn't exist due to MP3's. An MP3 is really a layer from an MPEG file, so its really MPEG Layer 3. So they skipped version 3 and went straight to 4!

Sorry about the jargon, but I'm just hilighting the fact that it isn't as simple as you think! Wink

go to download.com

search for the program you need, i.e. "Convert my balls"

and then refine the search results licence to free.

if you're after free video encoding utils, then ffmpeg and the mplayer mconvert utility should do the job whatever OS you're using.
