Two big differences.

1) They have a sense of humour.

2) They have an actual police patrol, on the road and are physically pulling in all the drivers they catch. None of this take your photo and receive a fine through the post. Everyone they caught there will have been stopped just up the road by a uniformed patrol and dispensed a bollocking along with their ticket.

Unlike our system, theirs will catch dangerous and inattentive drivers and pull up vehicles that shouldn't be on the road.

When I went Florida I was astounding with the amount of Traffic Patrols there were there.

Saying that on the Highway people flaunt the speed limit as much as they do on the motorway in this country.

On the plus side, you're allowed to ride your motorbike without a helmet on Cool .

Check out the last one though - people running 4 or 5 red lights at a time! I'm glad they get screwed for that, I don't want to be the poor git who gets sideswiped by them.

They also have bits of highway with minimum speed limits and they will give you a ticket just as readily for doing under the minimum.

I don't think I'd ride without a helmet either, but I'd like the option to.
