So I parked my bike up at my mates yesterday to find that my back L plate has fallen off somewhere along the road. Well that's just great. Anyway I need my bike to get to the bike shop to get a new set (bit of a catch 22)

There was a topic on here somewhere about making your own learner plate. Could someone please tell me if it's legal to make your own? Or could you point me in the direction of the topic im looking for.

Cheers

And this is what my life has come to, explaining common sense to kids.
Rolling Eyes

Get your crayons out and a bit of paper and draw one. For added excitement trace around the one you've still got.

If you have a fancy printer then you could scan the one you've got and make a copy.

My back L plate came off like 2 months ago. Either some little wanker nabbed it, or it came off in mid travel(I could feel it knocking against something when I hit bumpy roads, so maybe it was one bump too many and it broke off). I really should get a new one. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have time to get a new one. I'll make an extra effort to get one tomorrow.

i dont think they're 'legit stamped' or anything, so you should be able to make your own.

needs to be 7x7 inches

Yank,

I would not worry about it too much matey, I rode for 2 years without L plates (I thought they were a bit camp Twisted Evil).

I fortunately was only ever pulled once whilst on a CBT and the coppers never even asked about "L" plates.

Now I am not suggesting you should not have plates on, but I dont think you will be locked up for riding your bike a few miles to a dealer / shop to get one.

If it is that worrying then create one, or I could even send my old ones in the post to you as I no longer have a use for them!! Dance!

Karma Thumbs Up

You do realise its 3points for each L plate that is missing?

Why do tomorrow what can be done today?

Afraid that's already been used for your music vid thread or whatever Smile.

For the record, I'd expect you are very, very unlikely to get done if you've got a half decent home made 'L' plate on your bike.

Don't worry now Very Happy My bike is now 100% legal with both L plates now Smile Which is more then I can say for my riding.
