I finally got my first year no claims bonus (NSR 125) .
Got the letter from the AA today (for renewal) and I noticed the number plate was wrong "......Y.." when it should of been ".....V.."
I thought it was just a typo so I looked for my initial insurance documents (the one I applied for a year ago) and noticed the same typo.. except, it's not a typo but some kind of mistake!
I've been stopped by the police around 5 times and they've all did their check and let me go so I'm confused.
Is my bike insured or not?
Should I ring up the AA and confirm the mistake? What if they decide to retract the no claims!?!
I'm planning on selling my NSR next month, should I just wait, sell it and then get my new bike and everything will be okay?
What would you do?
I really don't want to lose this no claims - it has saved me £400+
Thanks |

Phone them up and say they made a mistake on the renewal documents. Don't mention the old certificate unless they ask, and if they ask tell them the truth.
They can't retract the no claims, and they'll just say "Oh sorry, I've changed that and had the new documents sent out."
They aren't going to get arsey, because it was more than likely their mistake. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

I had the same problem with (erugh) First Quote.
took 6 months to acually get a certificate and then the reg for one of the bikes was wrong
You really want to get it sorted sharpish because if they list the wrong registration on the database you are likely to get harrased by the plod when/if you get pinged.
legally you are still insured as you are protected by some clause they have, you could try and wrangle a few quid out of it as well if your smart ____________________ A scientist crossed a skunk with an owl. He's got a bird that smells but doesn't give a hoot |
