right im 16 about 5.7 to 5.9ish and weight 9 stone dead.
i have a target weight of 11 stone (muscley build not fatty) (hhmmmm muscley thats not a real word is it nvm)

anyways i have been asking a few people about it and getting mixed answers so my questions are

How fast could you gain 2 stone (my target weight gain) ?

How good is this weight gain crap (also brands and where you buy it from please Very Happy ) ?

How safe is this weight gain crap ?

how much weight training should i do ?
is there certain weights and reps (eg as much as i can lift for 5 reps or like as much as i can lift for 20 rep ? )

should i do cardio or just pure weight training ?

i had a 12 day pass for the gym back in jan i enjoyed it but guys i where training with where quite big already and lifting quite a large amount more than i did, but i have a different friend whos joined a different gym about the same size as me. So i have found a equal gym partner so that could push me more i guess.

thanks in advance nick

hard to say, as your starting out you'll start building quick, stick to your diet and train hard. hard to say how long, quite a while to gain that amount of muscle, every one is different. if you start out right you gain a lot quicker.

How good is this weight gain crap (also brands and where you buy it from please ) ?
to me weight gain stuff is crap. i get my stuff from www.myprotein.co.uk really good prices. i get whey protein concentrate 80(euro) and add some ultra fine scottish oats from the same company, oats give you carborhydrates which is needed for bulking up. other companys work, i've been on metrx, optimum nutrition and a few others but couldnt afford to carry on with them, some like maximuscle are very expensive Neutral

how much weight training should i do ?
is there certain weights and reps (eg as much as i can lift for 5 reps or like as much as i can lift for 20 rep ? )

4 days a week is enough, my training is:
monday - chest, triceps and abs
tuesday - back, biceps, forearms and abs
wednesday - day off
thursday - shoulders, traps and abs
friday - legs and abs
saturday - day off
sunday - day off

20 rep range is for fat burning. do 4-5 sets each excercise, no more. as for reps, do 3 sets of 6-8 reps, heavy weight for you. then lower the weight slightly so you can do 1-2 sets of 12 reps

should i do cardio or just pure weight training ?
up to you, if you do, do no more than 3 times a week and no more than 25 mins. you will put on abit of fat when bulking so will keep some of it off.

i started training at 16, i'm 18 at the end of May and coming up to 12 stone and i'm about 5.10 - 5.11inch tall. fuck what everyone else is doing in the gym. its good you've got someone to train with, it makes it a lot easier as you can spot each other. muscletalk bodybuilding forum is a good place, i'm a member.

28lbs of pure muscle is going to be hard as fuck to gain,and going to take a fair while. if you are serious about this, try;

hope i can help,good luck.

Is that your answer to fucking everything? Laughing

Actually, I agree, Ross Enamit is one of the best minds in sports science and boxing.

Your best bet, for optimal results, is to get the gym instructors to write you a personal fitness plan. Their the guys with the knowledge and they can direct you in the right direction.

jesus christ!!!!!
look at most gym instructors, none of them look like they should have passed the exam. if you want to ask someone, ask the bodybuilders in the gym, you will get to know alot of people in the gym. i asked them and they were more than willing to help, sometimes train with them. a few new people have even asked me and i'm not a gym instructer or the size of some body builders.

https://www.muscletalk.co.uk/ is very good for advice as teh guys know their stuff, But as someone said 28lbs of mucsle is going to be next to impossible without so much hard work, going on a proper diet and a good routine. You could try some of the bulking guides which are on Muscletalk.co.uk, I do weights every day and am well built, But when your bulking you cannot see the muscle as much due to the fat around it, Once you reach cutting stage its great to see the results. Remember to take 'before and after' pics, It gives you so much moivation to keep track of the progress, Alough it is a lot of hard work and progress takes time. Thumbs Up
