I know about DK selling ringer bikes , and selling other dodgy items , but I was looking on ebay for a new security chain and thought I know how about a datatool python, checked ebay , and found one for £80 , which isn't bad considering a python is usually £130 from the next cheapest shop.

thing is a chain is pretty hard to mess up surely such items will be ok? , a bike is a complicated machine with many parts.

or should I avoid DK on principle? .

or anybody else seen a data tool python (overrated?) for less than £100?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Just avoid DK out of principle, if people keep buying stuff from them, they will continue to be in operation.

LOL

I know, i'll spend £50 more on the same chain because someone told me so. Laughing

Just get it from the cheapest place you can, it's not like they are supporting child slave labour.

Really can't beleive you are prepared to do that.

buying from DK = supporting an enemy , thus treasonous!,

Yes. Blokey from TWO bought his Gixxer there in this month's edition, also. Confused

Yes that's why there is never a bad word to be said against them in that rag.

The shop above D&K that sells clothing, helmets, oil etc, is completely separate from D&K and I have had nothing but outstanding service from them. Wink

D + K are easy to suss out.

New bikes are fine as long as you check all your extra's are actually fitted and done correctly.

Used bikes - Don't bother, way too expensive, but they have a good selection to make your choice from.

Spares are fine, used parts are used parts, you always take your chances and hope for the best.

Accessories etc are done from a seperate section of the company and lets be fair, a lock is a lock, if a Python is your bag then it's going to be the same lock wherever you buy it from Smile

My cousin runs the motocross sales part of DK and even he says how dodgy they are.

Websters are much better to deal with, though obviously their stock is a hell of a lot smaller than DK.

Websters also over price their stuff a lot though, although I did get my RS125 from them and their after sales service was superb, the battery died on me, so they sent a mechanic out on a moped to replace it for me and a few weeks later the fuel pipe split, they replaced it when I got there to complain about it! Thumbs Up

K2 in stoke are also excellent, called them up to enquire about sending my bike in to have it's electrics checked over. They apologised because they couldn't fit me in for 2 weeks then the mechanic spent 5 minutes on the phone giving me instructions of how I could check things myself! Thumbs Up Very Happy

Yeah Mark who runs Websters is my cousin and brother of the cousin who works at DK. My surname is.....Webster.

They do overprice their bikes (like most used bike sales places), but they don't mind a bit of haggling.

the only thing DK are good for is going and looking at stuff, before you go and buy it someplace else.

In the words of the late great (at times) siggi, go stick it to the man!
