Digital odometer ,

What happens when you ride a bike with a digital odometer up to 100k? , I've never seen this happen
curious tis all cus my CBR doesn;t have a traditional odometer, and I'm too impatient to put 75K on it
to see what happens to it. I'm just wondering if the big Japanese 4 reckon no bike will last that long
or be used that long and thus saved costs by saving on the digital odometer display, RS motorcycles
is testement to that , (its a breakers in Todmorden / halifax with an enourmous number of Cat C bikes
in there with super low miles , possibly the worst one was a VFR800 with 903 miles on it written off).

Do they roll over back to 00000 or stick at 99,999 has anybody ridden a bike up to this mileage?.

Any thoughts? (yes I'm bored)

Thanks

You sell it! Very Happy

How about buying a cheap one and putting the sender in a drill then see what happens, if it goes back to 0, put a couple of miles on then sell it as low milage (or put it on your bike when you come to sell it so you can have whatever milage you want!) or, if it gets stuck at 99999, take it to a nice chap that can alter the milage, put something nice on, then do as above!

Why would it not just carry on? My bike has a digital odo and I can't see why it would stop at 99,999.

It will be the end of the world, it won't understand what to do so it'll blow up your bike.

Sorry, had flashback to 1999 then...

On my fireblade if you look at the LCD display at an angle you can see that there is the addtional digit for 100,000 miles the VFR has a anglog clock with one extra reel so the counter goes up to 999,999 but l can,t see even a vfr750 getting pass 1 million miles Laughing
