last week I complained to our council that the binmen had left so much crap in the road it was disgusting ,fairplay it was cleaned up quickly and all was well.
guess what the knobs did this week, on a perfectley straight and clear road apart from my parked bike ,They Nail it with the dustcart Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad fairing rear pannels engine casings etc etc all knackered to various degrees so without my bike for about 4 weeks ,they are trying to sort me a courtesy bike simmilar to mine (zzr600) hoping it may be something a little sportier

now im just saying, but the reason there was rubbish all over the ground was probably due to bins being over filled and their lids not being closed properly when they were tipped. and for health and safety, binmen are not allowed to clean up rubbish on the ground, or lift bin bags. some do, but arnt supposed to.

I've had a similar problem where the binmen would come along 1/2hr or more before the cart and take the bins and binbags out and dump them in the road for collection. Their favourite spot though was up against and around my bike, no chance of getting it out with moving all the rubbish myself. When I complained they denied it saying that it was the residents who were doing it. Imagine their horror when they were shown CCTV footage (via my local MP) of themselves in action in the starring role. Not only that but there was footage of one of them coming to my front door and verbally abusing me for reporting them in the first place. They now know I have CCTV and are on their best behaviour at least outside my place. It's not always on and not always recording but they don't know that. It's odd to watch them from the window and they're all lapzidazical with my neighbours rubbish but ever so careful with mine and my bike. They tried the noisy revenge bit too until someone reminded them that the camera also recorded sound. Oh, and you get some great candid shots of people in the street when they don't think anyone is watching them!

Jesus Christ, i detest what this country is becoming. I would say something like "what next? blah blah blah?" but for all i know, the most ridiculous thing i can think of has already happened.

reason for it is in case a binman gets stuck by a sharp, like a needle or glass. risks of disease is unreal. to put it like this, a bin run might have 3-4 tonneof rubbish. in that run your going to have tin cans, needles, glass, and other sharps. now put into that mix dog crap, cat piss, rat piss, off foods, perhaps used needles and human waste.

the reason is fair enough.

on the land fill only 1 person (driver) is allowed out of the cab, and he has steel plated soles on his boots just in case.

now i know you might be a bit put out by having rubbish on your street, but id rather leave rubbish behind than risk HIV, just because someone thinks putting an extra bag in the bin wont hurt, even though the lid wont close.

sorry for the rant, but binmen do a service most people would rather go on the dole before they even thought about doing.

erm yea, but hope you get the bike sorted soon mate, its a bitch when someone else breaks your bike lol

Aren't they paid for collecting rubbish? Isn't that what they should do then? They wear gloves, don't they??

I'd love to take that approach. Sorry Headmaster, I can't teach these children in case they cut themselves and pass on HIV. I'd be sacked for being an idiot.

That analogy is stupid, teaching a class is nothing like collecting loads of disease infested rubbish.

jesus i cant believe that, erm yea a leather glove is going to stop a needle Rolling Eyes and you can get needles and glass in your legs too mate.

and binmen are payed to take bins from the kerb, to the loader and back. not paid to sweep up rubbish, that what the sweepers and street cleaners are paid to do.

lol this is a bit silly now lol

Give 'em industrial gloves then.

Jeez, even I can tell the difference between a baked-bean tin and a hypodermic syringe.

And yes, street sweepers are there to collect rubbish dropped by the public. But if the bin-men make a mess, they should clear it up. What is this, fluffy liberal time?

That's why I pay over £1,000 a year in Council Tax.

Jesus, they'll be talking about not wanting to collect rubbish every week next in case they have to walk more than EU regulations. Oh, wait a minute....
