I was thinking of literally flying the BCF flag on the Pet Food Run, and wanted some ideas.

What to make the flag out of? And how to attatch it to the bike? i was thinking using mebbe fishing rod and cable tieing it to a fork, but then the falg will get in the way.

So...any ideas?

Maybe on the NSRs these those rails to lift the rear of the bike, you could fix it to them so that its behond you and not in your face like on the forks!

might be a bit of a bodge to stick it on.

you have to be very careful with flags on motorbikes!!!!!!!!

when our bike club done the Sheene Run earlier this year we tied a massive club flag to the back of a triumph trophy thingy (like a goldwing type thing) and it came loose down the motorway, scary stuff!

wouldnt want that to fly off and cover ya crash helmet so ya cant see now would ya?

As long as its on video it might be funny Very Happy
seriously though, there muct be somewhere you can bodge a damn flag on the bike.

like a normal standard screw that holds a metal small bracket, like a a worm gears.
ones that hold the air box and carb on tight. so that you could fit the flag to it, and thus fit the loop to a screw to put onto the bike,.

but that would take effort.

So jamming it into the fairing somewhere will work Very Happy

The riders back?

Make sure you have it held solidly around thier waist/ chest, with a pole holding the flag out straight at the top.

And in regards to making flags ask vicky Razz Laughing

It's gonna be so easy just to tie it to the pillion peg and/or the frame surely? Maybe have it attached to your rearset? Also maybe a bamboo cane from a DIY place for the pole.

Surely you don't go over about 30 on the pet food run, so a couple of jubilee clips(or tie-wraps!) onto the pillion pegs and some gaffer tape as extra security and it would be fine?

Hmmmmm, I'll get thinking sensibly.

youd really wanna put it on pillion pegs? so when ya slow/stop the flag dropps down, and gets tangled in ya rear wheel causing you to fall of..

hmmm good idea actually, please film it Smile something else for BCF DVD!

How about held onto the pillion pegs and rear grab rail so it's sticking up and backwards.

Obviously you'd be wanting to stop it from sliding down off the pillion peg one way or another.

Might be worth putting something between it and the fairing so it doesn't rub a hole in it though.

I think the most important issue is the weight!

Just find a light enough pole (like a fising pole or some antenna or something) which would, at the same time, be strong enough not to break in half in the wind and you won't have to worry about it coming loose from wherever you attach it...

Also, silk would problably make a decent enough flag material being light as a feather and pretty strong.

Just my logic, feel free to hit me if I said something wrong Razz

Some good ideas there. I think I'll speak to my mum and see what we can do. Although I think a bamboo cane cable tied to the pillion peg and grab rail may be the way forward.
