Im thinking of buying a 600 katana, the one im going to look at is a 1998 model.

Does anyone know of anything specific to these bikes to look out for and check other than the usual bike checks??

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Is this an original shap katana?

I know they did keep the model going for longer elsewhere, but we haven't seen any original shape ones officially sol new sice they were first made.

Is it the bike known as the 'bandit' by any chance?

I saw a GSX600F(infamously known as the teapot) today at the bike shop, there was a large Katana decal on it that funnily enough caught my eye. Wink

They're known for not being very resistant to corrosion, watch out for cracks around the side fairings (particularly by the front) from where it might've been dropped.

The GSX600f I saw today was being valued by the shop, he put it at around £1900 trade-in value(think it was a 97/98ish bike), but openly told the guy it'd sell for about £2800 in the shop with a warranty etc. That was in good condition with apart from a scuff on the right-hand side fairing.

G, i ride a 600 bandit at the minute, i think the katana is pretty much the same bike (engine-wise anyway) but with a big fat fairing!!!

I could be very wrong though

Ah... /that/ bike.. as suggested, it is known as the 'teapot'. Almost as bad sticking 'katana' on there as it was sticking it on a scooter Rolling Eyes.

Don't know any specifics, but I'd definately get a test ride to compare it to your current bike and see what you think.
