At the risk of over-exciting our local far-right campaigners, I'm starting to get a little annoyed at the amount of people jumping in front of me - almost all of whom don't appear to be Local.

South Harrow high street is especially bad, but pretty much anywhere in West London seems to be plagued by crazed Nigerians and Loony Asians doing their best to become roadkill. They drag their kids along with them, walk into moving traffic and then look surprised when people get annoyed at them. I frequently get abuse because I have the temerity to not stop for jaywalkers - usually due to the surplus of pedestrian crossings in the area.

Is this some form of cultural thing? Is it some kind of under-stated rebellion against The System? Is it just to personally annoy me?!

Please tell me I'm not the only Londoner to notice this?

Does anyone know somewhere where I can buy lots of sharp pointy bits to stick on my bike, so I can carve them up?

Around here it's just 15 year old chavs who find it funny for whatever reason.

They've gone beyond just walking slowly, they now see you coming and position themselves in the middle of the road and stop. Best way to deal with this is to look straight through them and go for it.

So far, to a man, they've all realised the error of their ways and got out of the way very swiftly.

Much as it pains me to say it - i honestly believe that jaywalking should be an offence. I've always believed in crediting people with some sort of common sense, but due to the amount of people i nearly run down on a daily basis, i've changed my opinion!

Hmm, must admit im yet to meet an immigrant with a shred of intelligence.

Personally if you're on a 600 and in 2nd/3rd drop a cog and dump the clutch. Theres something primal awoken by the site of a large biker summoning up noise and speed whilst overcoming gravity barrelling towards them.

In London, pedlemmings are everywhere. They wander off pavements in to the road regardless of what's going on around them - often talking on a mobile phone whilst doing it. That there are so few injuries / deaths is only thanks to riders / drivers being alert.

Is it just me that thinks people who wear a suit often think they're better / more important than anyone who doesn't?

However, there are some religions where it is believed that it's <insert deity of choice>'s decision as to when our time is up. Get squashed by a bus? Well it was obviously your time.

if you consider the roads in asia and africa ours are like quiet balmy walks in the park i think this is what makes them complacent.

I just started working in Wembley, the indians around there are feffin crazy, pedastrians and drivers, they really love stopping there cars around blind bends, doing crazy u- turns at 30 with no indicators and my personal favourite is the one where they drive round corners on the wrong side of the road, now I dont mean they took it wide, I mean actually in the wrong lane, Ive neally been wiped out endless times in the last 2 weeks with the above mentioned.

We've had an influx of eastern european workers over the last few years and they appear to have no concept of the danger involved in just stepping off the curb. I do think it's a cultural thing, they don't queue for the buzz either just sort of throw themselves on to it...

I did have an old pikey crossing the road the other day whilst the traffic lights were green. He was dressed like Rab C Nesbitt and wobbled left and right before I missed him, it was like something out of Absolutely

I have a similar problem with sheep.

They seem to like the grass just at the edge of the road or just around a corner.

I've been flashed before (thanks car driver) to warn of sheep in road, thing is these sheep are hard and they don't give a damn about my horn or my exhaust noise.

In a car its not a problem.

I've taken to doing the run over the moors at a steady pace, making a note of all sheep locations and then coming back.

We are taught to cross the road by our parents or teachers.

Africans and Asians on the other hand appear to get instruction from Domestic Poultry.

If you watch a chicken crossing a road it will invariably saunter across in front of traffic then mysticly avoid being mushed under wheel by a just-in-time burst of acceleration where the feet get to the other side before the head does.

Watch any Nigerian crossing a busy road and you will see exact same system at work.

Cars in their own countries do not bother to stop it seems.
Turd world countries have ridiculous road traffic accident stats. Amazing actually.
If malaria, HIV or social crime don't get them a car, bus or truck will.

Theres one place here that students happen to just walk in front of you. Its only happened once.
But other day as I was comming round the bend this chick walked - stop - walked - saw me - walked - stoped WTF I braked, got right beside her and she chuckled - pissed out her brain. Wont forget her, ugly munter she was, stick my leg out next time.

Hmm this is weird because it also seems to be a growing trend here in Australia as well.
At least where I am from it is.
Albeit not limited to a particular culture or if I am either in the cage or on the bike.
Must say the can on the bike tends to get them moving a little more swifly when it is doing what it does best.

Very strange the way they just wander out into traffic even once they have seen you.
Almost on purpose if you will. Kind of like a battle of the wills.

I find it effective once you spot them and you know they are eye balling you just turn to your mate in the car and pretend to not be paying attention to the road.
When you look back up they tend to be making best efforts to get out of the way.

Problem is once a few of them get a tough lesson it will be responded to by lowering the speed limits because of all the pedestrian incidents.

The only ones worse are the mothers with prams who wander into traffic or stop on the corner with the pram sitting out in the gutter ready to make her mad dash across the intersection.
These are the odd occasions where I feel its suitable to voice my opinions out the car window rather forcefully.

The trouble is my horn sounds like something from Chipperfields circus, and revving the bollocks of my NSR sounds like two monkeys frantically trying to escape from a biscuit tin.
