I am considering purchasing an arrow exhaust for my rs 125 but people say that it causes the bike to lose power in the lower gears and enhance the 5th and 6th. I wandering if anyone knows if this is the case?

Changing the exhaust on any bike that's already got a fairly well-tuned engine will make a mess of the fuelling.

Don't bother. RS125s are as about as good as 125s come.

Only bother if its a full power model with a powervalve... if it is then it will make a noticeable difference indeed.

All 2 stroke engines respond well to expansion chamber exhausts Wink

yeah i bourght one for my nsr 2002 model, after tuning it in it went like the nackers, was very fast and even having the small gain in power at low end the high end power was noticablly defferant and the top wnd up 10 or so mph, money well spent i thorght, and it looks so much better than the stock unit, the words "arrow" plastered on the side of your exhaust wards off stupid chavs on peds, as they assume its a tuned machine and insists it has the bite to go with the bark Wink

its all about the street cred! lol
i loved mine, worth it if you can afford to part with that much cash, but id advise getting it tuned in at a local garage, it shouldent take long but 2 strokes (as mentioned above) DO respond well to an increased exhaust flow, and bigger expansion chamber.

anyways hope i've swayed your decision, ARROW POWER!!!! Very Happy

lol

Regards, and happy riding!

Put one on my RS50 as i believed the downpipe was still restricted.

I gained power at 7000+rpm's as consequence for lower rpm loss.

Lost 5-10mph on top end though.

As with any change of exhuast, make sure that you jet to suite. I should imagen that on a two stroke such as the RS125 it would make a notable difference as a pipe on a two stroke is so important. I'd say do it if you have the cash.

My advice would be to check out Stap Stephens site. He also sells the Arrow exhausts. E-mail him and I'm sure he would be able to tell you what need (Also have a look/ ask what he could do, you'll start to dribble)
