Ok so when you go to task manager and under the Processes tab, you will a list of programs running, if you are not sure what some of the .exe files are

check out https://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/

or alternatively google the process, i.e. svchost.exe, sometimes this a good way to keep a eye on any unwanted programs running in the back ground, or viruses etc. Remember also there are viruses and keyloggers which you will sometimes not see in processes list.

make sure your antivirus is up to date: i use kaspersky Thumbs Up

One problem I find is that I always have about 55 processes running! Sad

Do a check and only 1 of them was suspect. I would like to end a lot of them, but a lot of them are there to check for updates and I don't want to compromise updates.

Unless there was a way you could stop a process for a week and then allow it to run for 1 day a week to check for updates or something to that nature?
