I will be waving goodbye to my lovely cable modem at the end of this week and due certain circumstances (mainly that we can't get cable Razz) we are having to go for ADSL. I have heard of Bulldog ADSL who are supposed to be good, I was wondering who ahs what and what customer service how long it all took, time is everything as I can't be 56K! I'd die!

Or better than all that a website that lists all the adsl companies with reviews etc Smile lthought I still would like your opinions of companies

What you really want to do is move somewhere decent.

If the area doesn't have cable then you shouldn't be living in it. Razz

They're all pretty much the same, but make sure you go for a decent size company. There are a few dodgy small one's out there.
Plusnet are OK.

www.f2s.com are very good

Anything which is anything to do with BT should be made illegal. Stupid bastards making us sign a 12 month contract so they would remove our ISDN without charging us £250 Sad

Well It seems these company's are a bunch of wankers, they are all as bad as BT, there's always something wrong with all of them! The only shining light was bulldog 2mb, and they only do it for cockneys Razz

Hi

Have you yet checked that you can get ADSL? The exchange we are on is ADSL enabled. Bugger all good it does us though.

All the best

I'm with pipex, never had any problems, free modem (granted its only a usb job but for my use its fine).

If you do end up going with pipex theres something about using a reference for something or other (not sure if I get something free or we both do?).

I'm with Bulldog DSL and quite frankly I'm extremely happy with my 2 meg line. I've had no trouble with their service and everything seems to run smoothly.

And BTW, not of all London is cockney. For starters I'm not cockney, I don't sound cockney and I don't speak cockney, but Richard does seem to have that typical common accent.

Cockney's have to be born within the sound of Bow Bells. I didn't see that requirement on the Bulldog application form... Rolling Eyes

I'm on Pipex as well and can't fault them.

If you give Gav's username when you sign up then you both get a month free. Just a shame he got there first... :S

I'm also on Pipex, also can't fault them.

From what I have seen they are also definately the cheapest 512k broadband provider too (or they were a couple of weeks ago)

Maybe its just a bit nasty where you are Bendy.

BT Openworld is fine where I am, compare the amount of times I've pinged out of IRC, with the amount you have Wink.

Openwoe had been fine for the last 2 years. It's just gone arse-up recently.

To be fair, I think it's the modem. I need to get a PCI one and try that instead.
