Well basicly I took my van for a MoT yestaday ands it failed on a fair few bits. I've left it at the garage untill tuesday when the boss gets back and can tell me how much its going to cost to fix it. But from what I can remember I was told on the phone, here is what it failed on:
Two tyres
a window wiper
3 break lines
And something wrong with one of the headlights?
Its an old n reg 1.8 escort deisel van.

Depends on how much you want to spend:
2 x Tyres = £35-50 each (budget brands from Kiwi-fit, ATS, National)
wiper blade = £2 Wilkinsons
3 brake lines = £100 ish + fitting + fluid + VAT
headlight adjustment = tuppence
so say £200 - 300, hope that helps ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

if youve not already given the go ahead to them, then why not ask for the two rims so you can go get some part worns fitted, and then say you will also drop off the wiperblade on your return with the tires. Fit the blade yourself, and that done, you would be looking at no more than £40ish quid?
then the brake lines (do they mean flexi hoses or the lines running front to back?) will be the biggest concern ____________________ 1997 Kawasaki ER 500 A1:- Once again, Its merely crap |

Well I got it back from the MoT place and they said the bill will be sent to me in the post so I dont know exactly how much its cost me yet, but I did speak to the boss before the work was carried out and he said it would be somewhere in the region of £200.
Only thing thats really pissed me off is I've got the thing home, had another quick look round, and heard a load hissing coming from my front right tyre. Yes indeed I've got a puncture already, but it is one of the old tyres so I'm not that bothered. Just means I'll be having to put the spare wheel on tommorow morning. (yay) |
