I thought it was terrible. They must have spent a fortune on special effects. It is over long as well. Probably too long for kids to sit through. There were a couple of good scenes but nothing to redeem the film. I would rather watch the animated series Very Happy

I don't think Tobey Maguire helps. The man has no charisma.

None of the spidermans have been up to scratch. Batman and Superman were much better recent superhero movies.

Awful - and I'm a comic book geek. Over long, badly scripted, badly plotted, too many characters, they messed up Venom, Kirsten Dunst has the sexual magnetism of a limp lettuce.

(OK there may have been some good things - the guy who played the sandman was excellent - why didn't they just concentrate on him for the duration. Special effects were good - in particular the Sandman bits. Bruce Campbell (natch))

If you are a fan of the comic books or the first two movies then don't bother with this. If you're not the REALLY don't bother.

Funny thing is I really enjoyed Daredevil!!

Hellboy is my favourite comic book adaptation of recent times.

It deserves to be the best purely on the fact Ron Perlman is the lead.

Batman begins was the best comic book adaptation of recent times.

A lot of the Marvel ones are rubbish, but none could be as bad as catwoman! Rolling Eyes

I quite enjoyed the X men films although they weren't that faithful to the comic, and Spiderman annoyed me because of the whole organic web shooter thing.

Dare Devil was rubbish, I hear Elektra was arse, and I hear that Hulk was OK.

I quite enjoyed Ghost Rider actually, but it certainly wasn't a cinematic masterpiece!

Oh yeah forgot about that one, was very good (and Katie Holmes would have made a much better MJ than Kirsten Dunst) - still prefer Hellboy though!

Not so recently I don't think, far more hits than DC have had.

Ah yeah, but the explanation from Raimi was quite sensible - is a high school kid really going to be able to design web shooters!

Nooooo, it was good - a perfect acting job for ol' Wooden top!! Hulk was OK but not great

Haven't seen GhostRider, looking forward to FF4 II though, could be great (then again it could be a bag of arse!!)

Killa - are you being sarky? Because I actually really enjoyed Punisher Embarassed, maybe I'm just a fan of bobbins comic book films.

The soundtrack of Punisher was good for the film, the directing was ace I thought…….
As it was a comic book adaptation, I don’t care about some of the acting, some of the scenes were very memorable.
The sound FX, guns, fighting, etc….all wicked, and not hugely over the top like Hellboy,…..don’t get me wrong, I liked Hellboy, but it was an all together different style.
I loved the build up at the start to the massacre of the family, so much hate after that. Wink

I really liked it……..perhaps you have a different view because you know so much about the comics. I just love film.

I haven’t seen Batman begins but Mr Bale has always been an actor I’ve enjoyed watching since a kid watching Spielberg’s, Empire of the sun. Equilibrium was a surprise. I can’t bring myself to watch Dare Devil, the story is stupid.

Yes, but if he had to have the organic web gland of a spider, it would be in his arse! Laughing

And either way he was supposed to be a child genius, whether or not it came from the spider bite.

In the 90's cartoon they explain that the spider bite gave him a natural instinct for the blend of chemicals that could be made into webbing. I'm sure they could have worked that into the film!
