hi all, can somebody tell me what a reasonable cruising rpm is for the nsr 125, as i can't decide what it trashing it and is it ok to rev it to about 10,000-10,500rpm lots? thanks ahead

If you keep it ah high revs then obviously it's going to put a strain on the engine, which may/probably will shorten it's life.

There isn't really a cruising speed you need to go at? 4th/5th gear in 30 zones, 5th/6th gear in 40's... etc.

It's a 2 stroke! Rev the bastard!

It worse for it if you sit around in the low revs. Anything below the redline is fine

i find around 5k is uaually very smooth and adaquate power to keep it there. Although higher speeds call for higher rpm.

and its ok to rev to 13k Very Happy and yes my bike did do that one time Very Happy

well, the reason that i ask is because i travel around 20 miles each way on a motorway, and usually stick at around 8k, but i don't want to blow the poor little thing up. it is derestricted with a 15 tooth front sprocket. Rolling Eyes

Should be fine around 8 k,
But vary the revs every so often instead of sitting at one particular rev range.

The normal revs are 6 to 7 thou for crusing
but why would you want to cruse on one
