Yes as the title suggests im in agony.


Yesterday i was trying to be helpfull, some old bloke managed to get his tobacco stuck in a gutter from a balcony above, so i said i would get it when he asked.
I took a run up, foot on the wall, jumped up and was about an inch away from grabbing it out of the gutter for him. No problem i'll have another go, just need to run a bit faster with a better run up. While running me ankle twisted and me whole body weight was on the side of me foot (all 16 stone). Heard a loud snapping noise and a grinding feeling and fell straight on ground. Me ankle swelled up and i couldnt put any weight on it at all. I got a mate to take me to hospital and due to being skint didnt take any money. The hospital said its just a bad sprain, and sent me off on crutches. This is fine but they dont offer a service to get you home so there I am at half 9 at night about 7 miles from home on crutches and no way of getting home. So i hobbled all the bloody way home, got in at about 2 o clock this morning. My ankle today is twice the size of yesterday and me whole foot is a light shade of purple even my toes have swolen up! I've had sprains before on me ankles and its never hurt this much

And to top it off i have four blisters on me hands from the hobble home on crutches.



No point to this really just felt like writing it as im bored at home and in a lot of pain still, I cant even put the weight of the leg on me foot.

Are you sure you haven't broken anything, did the hospital x-ray you?
Sounds VERY similar to what happened to me when I was playing footy a few years ago. Went over on my right ankle, felt and heard the snap and my ankle ballooned straight away. Went to hospital, got x-rayed and turns out I'd broken my ankle in 2 places and also the bone on the outside of my calf (can never remember what it is called!)... was on crutches and in plaster for the next couple of months!

they x rayed it, then had to do some more x rays as they wernt sure about the metatarsal, then said it was fine, just a sprain, but like i said i aint sure as ive sprained me ankles before and it wasnt anything like this, its proper painfull, still cant put ANY weight on it and it was nearly 24 hours ago now

I'd seriously suggest giving the NHS Direct line a call, doesn't sound right that you've only sprained your ankle with what you seem to be currently experiencing...

no one could pick me up cos most of my mates drink in the same pub and were all on the piss, where i should have been.

Another mate who lives near me has just ran out of tax on his van, would of took the bike but i couldnt change gear.
