Why is it that a GSZR 600 T plate and a CBR 600 J plate both cost around £1500 are Suzuki that bad, or are Honda that good ?

Because there are people out there dumb enough to part with that amount of money for an old lemon of a bike.
There's one born every minute.

Hondas are renowned for still going strong after 15 years of abuse.

Suzukis are renowned for falling apart after 8 years of abuse.

That's because to the sort of person that rides a CBR's (especially the older pre-RR ones)idea of abuse is forget to oil the chain. They are the sort of people who tuck their jeans into their boots. Most of them are called Quentin.
A GSXR pilot's idea of abuse is to hold the throttle to the stop till the valves bounce (in every gear), on the back wheel, past the local girls school.
Very Happy

GSXR pilots also have GSXR tattoos and matching paddock jackets + leathers + helmet. Laughing

Oh Gods. There was a guy I got to know on an International Forum. Anyway he is from LA and as his first bike after passing the MSF bought a GXR1000RR

In the months that followed he gathered an incredible array of Gixxer Tat... A nice enough guy but defintely more interested in the image he was projecting than learning to use the weapon he'd chosen as a first bike.

Of course any Honda merchandise I happen to own is very tasteful and entirely approriate...
