my cr 250 anouther **update**back together

hi just got back before from picking up my 95/96 cr 250 took 4 hours to get there and back but im quite happy with it so far, i bought it off ebay for £410 it has very low compression so obviously doesnt run but all the bearings suspension e.tc are all good and not fucked only thing really is it could do with a new rear tyre and some fresh plastics, but il get that once engines sorted which il be stripping down after ive had some tea lol, so il post up pics of the damage so heres some pics of her and my bros bike aswell

oh and the plastics are proper red not the dull colour they look in the photos

just whipped top end off and engine is fuxxord looks like big ends gone and also some chips out of piston, the big end just wobbles about when you shake the con rod and all theh little roller bearings near enough fall out lol propper fucked the big end BUT somehow the barrel has survived it theres no damage to it like scores,grooves e.tc its all good thank god lol ,so guess its an engine out jobby gonna have to get a con rod kit,piston kit,full gasket set,prob do main bearings and replace the seals aswell but hopefull once its done it will be a good fun bike and reliable so not bothered that its fucked really lol just all next months wages are going on fixing it

right well seems engines nacked ive got my dealer to price a wiseco,genuine and prox piston kit and same for con rod kit which il find out on monday, anyway yesterday i stripped down the brakes and gave them a good clean and lube so there all good now, and ive started rubbing down mudguards im gonna get some new plastics anyway but there gonna be spares also resprayed front exhaust which looks like new now, and last night took engine out didnt take long at all really, then today took all air box and everything off and started cleaning the frame and getting it prepared then painted it see pics i think it looks much better, well pleased with it just need to get engine rebuilt next month :thumbsup:

just took cylinder head off bike and its abit damaged think il have to get one from a breakers or ebay or does anyone now if its repairable?? its tooken little chunks out of it heres the pics

From my limited knowledge, I would say that if the raised bits were to be made flush then running it shouldn't be a problem though you may loose some power (not quite sure how much mind) If your really not happy with it then I think finding one from fleebay or similar would be the best route

well took swingarm off last night to start scrubbing it down and polishing it up so its chrome 8) started off using 120 wet and dry then whent through all the grades upto 800 then used some rubbing compund then autosol to finish it off took ages and my arms are killing but looks so much better now i forgot to take some before pics but ive put a pic of the bike when the swingarm was normal just plain dull so heres the pics of it looks even better in person let me know what you think cheers

This puts me in notions for doing the same to my cr80. Need frame, swingarm done and new plastics. The cylinder head is ALOT worse than yours, mate went on it without water and seized it
But yea keep the pics coming.

right anouther update got my engine split all parts here and one of teh shafts with all the gears on had a chunk out of each one so needed a new one of them and the selecter drum and anouther cog been looking around and a guy 20 mile from me was selling this bottom end with a snapped con rod but he said if the gearbox was nacked he'd take it back and refund us it was £70 casings are nacked but i just wanted the box so got it back tonight and split it and it was all good so taking the bits round to garage tomorrow and hopefully it be all rebuilt by end of week
