I have had problems with my bike since I first got her. Now the problems have gotten worse. Went out on thursday morning to find someone had kicked her over and she had spilled petrol and oil onto the ground. She started but wouldnt hit the high revs and sounded throaty, then about 20 minutes down the road she cut out when I slowed at a roundabout and wouldnt start again. She's had a new spark plug, suppressor cap, battery, a dose of putoline through the carb to try and clean it out and a hell of a lot of my holidays so far and I seem to be getting no where. She's my only mode of transport to work so have been unable to get in. Hence why I am trying to get her sorted out asap. I am at a loss to what is wrong with her and any help is gratefully accepted. Been advised before to clean out the tank but have no idea how to do this and she has no reserve tank, which I have been told is very unusual for a bike.

Did you replace the oil that leaked out.
When was the air filter last changed.

Paddy.

I never replaced the oil as I checked the level and she's still well in the boundries. As to the air filter, I've had her just over a year and she's second hand so I have no idea when it was last changed. Do you think this may be the reason? Have just recently got her starting up by cleaning out the spark plug and the bit it screws into. But now it's as if she chokes and loses fuel at junctions or any point the accelerator is released and cuts out, not starting for 10 minutes at a time sometimes. Any ideas?

Start the bike up and when it sounds wrong open the petrol filler cap.If
it sucks in air then the breather for the tank is blocked or restricted.
Also fuel shortage and flooding can sometimes give the same symptoms.
Is there a filter in the fuel line and does the fuel tap have a bowl below it.

I will need to download a manual if you don't know.

There isn't currently a manual for the CBR. Marci has a link to some parts diagrams though.

She doesn't suck in air through the filler cap and I've emptied the breather tube with only a drop of oil dripping out of it. I'm going to take her round the petrol station and fill her up, see if it helps. But was informed that a shop I took her too for a servicing may have done the damage by tightenining a tie around the starting cable, resulting in poor acceleration when the handlebars are fully turned in either direction and reducing the revs when idle. As soon as we loosend the tie the idle speed shot upto 4000RPM, as they'd turned the idle speed up at the servicing to try and stop her stalling when idle. I will also have a look for a filter in the fuel line and a bowl below the tap. Thanks for helping me all.

Found this one https://www.mmra.org.uk/marci/cbr125/index.php for the cbr and have taken the fuel tank off, checked the breather hoses, fuel lines and the air filter as well as making sure the radiator isn't restricted or unable to take in air. Just waiting for a spanner to check the fuel filter. But as of the now nothing has been found in the pipes or leaked out of them. Any more ideas will be acted upon and checked out. Thanks
