I have absolutely no need for a car at this point in my life - just did it to get it out of the way.

BUT...I've got a bloody 6 point limit for 2 years again! Evil or Very Mad

It's wrong that I've had my full (bike) licence for 5 years now, but having just passed my car test I can only get 6 points before being banned - which would of course also mean I loose my bike licence. Grr.

What if I already had 6 points when I passed my car test? Instant ban I guess? Bloody DVLA/DSA or whoever makes the decisions. Neutral

no limit, it only runs from the date you pass your first full entitlement test, you only have to go through it once.

Congrats Thumbs Up

You sure? I did double check it with the examiner at the time of passing my test, but maybe he was in auto-pilot and wasn't listening to me properly.

Cheers - 1 minor too! Mr. Green

I'm absolutely certain. You won't have to go through another 6 point probation period Thumbs Up

Is fucking stupid if ya do to be honest. As if you had passed car test and then passed bike test then you wouldn't have to.

If you had to take the probationary points every time you passed a test, you could (theoretically) earn yourself a ban by passing a test.
Bit of a catch 22 that one.
Confused

Woo yay! I have no points and aren't planning on getting any, but it's still a load off my back. Dance!

Thanks everyone for the replies!
