Just had my first spill
Was pootling along toward a deserted junction with traffic lights, slowed to about 20mph as it was wet and quite dark. Lights changed to amber, and as soon as I touched the front brake the bike went over.
I *almost* saved it... bike initially went over to the left until my knee bounced it over to the right-hand side, then it slid out from under me.
Bike is buggered cosmetically but I managed to start it and get it home. I'll be needing (at a minimum):
-R/H front indicator
-Right footpeg
-Brake pedal
-Right lower fairing
-Right upper fairing (I only need the right hand half)
If anyone can help me with the exact part numbers I'd be very grateful. Bike is a red/white/blue 03 plate NSR125R.
As for me, I'm fine (ish). Was wearing a leather jacket, jeans and boots. I've lost quite a bit of skin from my left knee and impacted my right knee and elbow pretty hard on the tarmac. Judging from the impression my elbow armour made in my skin, without the jacket I'd probably have a broken elbow!
Mentally I'm not that bad, just a bit shocked at the speed at which everything happened. It was wet, but I literally touched the front brake and it seemed to go over immediately. I'm fairly certain I hit something slippy, and I'm not even sure if I'd even applied the brakes before it went over to be honest. |

that's not good. Don't worry about battle scars on a 125. If it's your first bike, it'll be going over again with you on it probably. just touch it up before you sell it

It's part of the learning curve which everyone, and I mean everyone, goes through I've been falling off since 1962 and I've just about got the hang of it now My bikes wear the damage as a kind of badge. I don't normally worry too much about the cosmetic damage, call it customising and just fix the necessary stuff ____________________ a frown is just a smile, turned upside-down. |

Haha, yeah not too bothered about the minor cosmetics... exhaust is scratched up, rear indicator buggered but fixable. Unfortunately the fairings are not only scratched but cracked in multiple places, my air intake doesn't really fit in place anymore... bar ends and brake lever also scratched.
My right knee is rapidly swelling and I get the feeling this is gonna hurt in the morning... could have been a LOT worse though
On the plus side, my remote start still works! |

Fairing sounds like a job for Captain Gaffer Tape and his faithfull sidekick, Ziptie I've got a knee that swelled up 5 years ago and hasn't gone down yet. It's also a sorta purple colour ____________________ a frown is just a smile, turned upside-down. |

Falling off sucks.
I'm quite lucky that my fat arse saved me when I had my spill, otherwise I probably would have broken something.
Good luck recovering mate, take it slow.
