Thats very good.
I tend to spend about 20 minutes trying to do compicated mental arithmetic to work it out after filling up Rolling Eyes

If you top up at about 100 miles, and can get 10 litres in, that's about 45 mpg.
Easy to remember and is the general area of a lot of bikes.

What about if you ride a motorbike?

I don't bother with trying to work out mpg figures for my bike (or car). My method is fill the tank up, then wait till the fuel light comes on and fill up again - hey presto! - the amount of petrol i put in is roughly equal to the amount of petrol i've used.
Who said maths had to be difficult??

Just multiply the number of litres you put in by 0.22, to convert it to gallons.

Then just divide the number of miles you did by the number you just calculated above.

It's quite a sad world we live in if people need to open webpages and use all sorts of clever things just to work out miles/gallons.

With greatest respect Sir.

Ride:
1. to sit on and manage a horse or other animal in motion; be carried on the back of an animal.
2. to be borne along on or in a vehicle or other kind of conveyance.
3. to move or float on the water: the surfboarders riding on the crests of the waves.
4. to move along in any way; be carried or supported: He is riding along on his friend's success. Distress is riding among the people.
5. to have a specified character for riding purposes: The car rides smoothly.
6. to be conditioned; depend (usually fol. by on): All his hopes are riding on getting that promotion.
7. Informal. to continue without interruption or interference: He decided to let the bet ride.
8. to be carried on something, as a litter, a person's shoulders, or the like.
9. to work or move up from the proper place or position (usually fol. by up): Her skirt rode up above her knees.
10. to extend or project over something, as the edge of one thing over the edge of another thing.

Drive:
1. to send, expel, or otherwise cause to move by force or compulsion: to drive away the flies; to drive back an attacking army; to drive a person to desperation.
2. to cause and guide the movement of (a vehicle, an animal, etc.): to drive a car; to drive a mule.
3. to convey in a vehicle: She drove them to the station.
4. to force to work or act: He drove the workers until they collapsed.
5. to impel; constrain; urge; compel.
6. to carry (business, an agreement, etc.) vigorously through: He drove a hard bargain.
7. to keep (machinery) going.

I prefer to Drive than just ride my bike. Razz Karma

There's no need to work it out everytime - but worth having a good idea what's normal.

Something might go wrong which you would spot if consumption went up suddenly.
Plus its helpful to know how much range you should have if out in an area without many filling stations.
