Hi,
Im in need of a new set of front pads on my ZX6R (6 pot tokicos). Ive just overhauled the calipers with new seals and fluid and now the lever is nice and solid but the stopping power still isnt convincing. The pads currently fitted have plenty left on them but just seem to lack stopping power, they were fitted when I bought the bike so im not sure what type they are.

The bike is fitted with goodridge braided lines.

What would be the best bet for, reasonably quick weekend mainly dry use only with the odd trakday thrown in? I was thinking sinterd or similar?

Thanks

it could be that the pads and disks have glazed over, try a little wet and dry paper on the pads to ruff them up a bit, also a fine rub on the disks aswell

Do what he says, also when your pads get low they just don't work as well anyway as the pistons have more travel in them before the pads start to bite.

When buying new I go for Carbone Lorraine SBK3 (unless they've been superceded now).

I like CL SBK3s as well, top pads.
Performance Friction manufacture a road / track pad now, supposed to be excellent. Probably 70% of club racers use Performance Friction race pads, they're fantastic and don't ever fade.

Cheers for the help, I took some wet and dry over the pads and discs when I done the caliper overhaul and it definetly helped for a bit but I think they may have glazed again.

Just been looking into it a bit further and think I would be best suited to HH pads does this sound about right?

I will look into the carbon lorraine pads, im off to the bmf next week so hopefully might find a set a bit cheaper than usual. Thumbs Up
