Do Michelin's suit a Fireblade?

i have a 97 Blade, always run it on Bridgestones.. thinking of putting some Michelin Pilot Sports on it, just wondering if anyone has tried this and opinions on the tyres

I had a 94 blade and had a pilot sport on the front - gave me more confidence in the 16inch front end.

Nice 1 will give them michelin sports a go.I think u got 2 get confidence in ur tyres dont think theres any bad tyres anymore just sum better than others.Bridgestones seem 2 suit mi blade but at £130 a pair got 2 give michelins a blast..cheers

I suggest you try Avons, running an ST rear and a Venom front at the moment with no problems on my 96 Blade.

My that should put the cat among the pidgeons.

I recently got some Pilot Road 2's on my 97 blade...admittedly by mistake as I needed some new rubber in a rush and was going to get the sports but asked for the wrong tyre lol....anyways, they're scrubbed in now and to be honest they feel pretty good..I'm not a mega slow rider and recently popped my knee down cherry on these tyres after 13 years of riding Smile

sounds like there gud enough then them michelin roads get top write up.sud b a bit more grip wi sports as well so sud b ok. doin trackday at cadwell soon last time at cadwell run 010 bridgestones plenty of grip.how u like ur 97 blade how long u had it is it standard r hav u jazzed it up a bit...cheers 4 tyre info.

nice picture of ur blade like that coulour 1 of the best luks in top condition u keep it nice.wunt mind doin 17inch conversion 2 my blade aint had any full blown slappers got a bit scary wen front wheelbearin needed sortin.i6inch rubber getin hard 2 get in new state of the art tyres now.ive got black n silver RRV had it seven its still a buzz luv it 2 bits..tak care.

I'd make sure it was the Pilot Powers you were fitting... the Pilot Sports aren't really designed for high powered sportsbikes...

I wouldnt as they are rubbish and having to be recalled as they are coming apart.... a reported 68,000 sets to be exact!

And how the hell were you getting tank slappers? I rode my 97 for 2 years with the 16" front and never had a wobble!!! Not even with wheelies (Ok 1" attempts, except on the drag strip, but still Very Happy

Bloody hell. Even with lower gearing I culdn't get it to shake. I'd be more worried about a dodgy suspension setup. I rode mine as hard as anyone and it never slappered me. Suppose it goes to show just how different the same bike can be
