Bouncers ask for ID off anyone who they think is underage. This is a fact. I know this because my uncle used to be a bouncer and he says you've got more chance of getting in if you're with slightly older people who are actually 18 and hope to god after the first person's proved they're 18 they let you all in. Most places nowadays just ask for ID off everyone in the group who looks underage not just a couple. It's a lot of hassle anyway, hoping she gets in, much better if she does have some form of ID just in case, even if it's not much of a plausable form of ID, because you can blag her handbag got nicked or something. There WILL be others in the group who get asked for ID, so hopefully if she gets out a form of ID they will just look at one and rather than read every single persons ID and look like fools when everyone's 18 they will just shove you along.

Not all bouncers ask for it at all. Of the places that i go a good deal of the people in there are obviously underage, yet never get ID'd. I've only ever been asked once, and I told him I hadnt bought any out and he let me in anyway.

Last few weeks out in Reading they've been pretty on top, with at least of couple of us being asked (normally luke, but he insists on taking the piss out of the bouncers )

But there is always somewhere who won't ID underage ppl, so its thier elses loss IMO, especially if theres a large group who don't go in cos they won't let one or two people in

Yeah there are places like that. But you don't want to be walking around bars wondering if everyone's gonna get in. One thing I hate is having to skip really good bars because you're with someone who won't get in cos they're hot on ID and you're with someone underage. It can ruin nights out, which is why she needs to obtain some sort of ID. Does she know anyone that is 18 that looks reasonably like her? Could she borrow someone's driving licence or something?

One trick my mate used is this... he is a spitting image of his elder brother who is 18 months older. He got his brother to send off to the DVLA for a duplicate photocard driving licence, ticked the lost box on the form. I think it is £18 for a duplicate licence which my mate paid obviously. 5 days later hey presto a duplicate driving licence and a covering letter saying if you do happen to find your old licence please cut it up and dispose of it. Cheers easy

As for going out....
Where /do/ people want to go... I suspect Gav may be in the minority this time... but he's the only person to try and make any kind of suggestion.

I presume people would prefer not having to have any kind of dress code? (doesn't bother me /too/ miuch, but past expereience has shown it does bother others )

I'm easy to be honest G, I'll go where the masses go as normal.

I'll be dressed up like a tart as normal so I'll meet dress code of most if not all places.

Can't really suggest many places in Reading as I don't know many, and can't really remember many that I've been taken in before.
