computers running like a bag of shite??

No clue how its just started happening . I cant listen to music and open up a webpage as the songs start to skip and jump?? Also when my computer started been shite my net is also running slow as hell.

I cant even play css ive lowered all the graphics to low and its still lagging like mad but i have a god ping.

It was all fine a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone got any ideas?

sounds like a virus/trojan either mailing out spam or trying to infect other machines. netstat would normally give an overview of what connections are open, but any half-decent trojan would modify the netstat binary to disguise its own activity.
If you spot a lot of connections to port 25 or a clump of network connections that feel out of place, then that's possibly the case.

If the cause is something other than malicious software, then a quick look at netstat and the performance monitor should at least help point you in the right direction.

Other than the already suggewsted spy ware and virus issues, you may have installed software that loads into memory at start up....A gradual accumulation of these programs over time makes a PC run like a bag of shite.

Look hear for ideas on optimising your PC....however do bear in mind its possible to fuck your instalation by tampering with these settings!

As already said it sounds like you have a Virus, what A/V and Firewall programs are you using? Have you done a spyware scan recently?

Mine was running slow and net was slow saturday, ran a scan with NOD32, Avast, Zone Alarm security suite then Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware Pro and aSquared and found nothing. Then ran Xsoftspy and found AVP.exe Trojan and removed it. Back as new again now, full speed net and quick startup and running of the PC.

I just tried xoftspyse 4.31 and its found trojans but i need to register it to get rid of them.

I cant find any serials or cracks on the net .

Cany anyone find one at all?

I've also had a problem with my pc running dog slow recently. Got Av and Spyware running regularly so no problems there, however i've now disabled the automatic Windows Update and it's running great again.

Debating on upgrading from XP Pro to Vista....
