I was always under the impression that modern era electronics would never become valuable or collectable.

However, I was looking for a game on ebay the other day cause I remember having a demo of it on my Playstation 1 and it turns out they are quite rare and prices on ebay are higher than a typical PS2 game.

Is it possible that it will keep increasing in value?

The game in question is the mighty: - Parappa The Rapper.

Awesome game.

there was a discussion about the collectability of older console gear a while ago.

these things are only gonna appeal to particular people IMO.
theres certain things i would buy console related that someone else may not so its hard to say.

on the whole i think everything is collectible to the right person.

slightly off-topic, but fans of pa-rappa would probably mess their kecks at Gitaroo Man (assuming they haven't already done so of course)

I downloaded it a few months back and played it again, Awesome game. And yes, I have Gitaroo Man on the PS2 and PSP too, It's much better IMO.

yeah certain games become collectable, normally the cult ones like parappa, and virtually all the original final fantasies fetch more than usual. Ico for ps2 was fetching a fair wad on ebay a while back then they rereleased it and prices went down. Mate of mine managed to find starocean for ps1 in a shop for a tenner, then got 80 quid for it following week on ebay.

I bet original Ridge Racer copies are worth something. There must be millions of the platinum version, but I bet there aren't that many originals left. Give it another 10 years and it might be worth significant amounts, as the 1st Playstation game.
