Does any one else think race?

An M3 and a Honda?

Me thinks they where although it's not like the car driver is gonna admit it probably say the biker drove in to him or summit.
Or may be the bike was kicking his ass so he drove in to him. We will never know.

dont know about it being a race, it doesnt give enough info i.e no eyewitness statements etc. well since the poor chap died he cant defend his self the bmw might be able to say what ever he wants depends on eyewitness reports. sad day for his family

We shouldn't presume they were racing/arseing about just because the 'collision' was with an M3, but it's natural to assume they were.

I'd take that as a reminder to avoid fun and games with metal cages.
If you do then I reckon about 90% of the risk lies on you.
You're relying on the car driver not to fuck up and take you out whilst you're pushing yourself too far.

I've cheekily shot passed a type R civic only to have them come flying through the next roundabout out of control and over into the wrong lane and nearly taking me out. best not to provoke them!

i dont think it was a race because the driver was 47!!!

probably a company car anyway.

well i think he means that the majority of riders/drivers that re that kind of age are more mature than say a 20 year old (no offense to anyone whos 20) so it might be considered by some as unlikely a 47 year old would be racing. just a stab in the dark thats all Thumbs Up

How the hell did you come to that conclusion?

For all you know the guy has driven perfomance cars all his life, has bags of experience and is an advanced driver, and was driving at 30mph.

The only facts you can summise from that story is that a 24 year old on a bike died from an RTA involving a car driven by a 43 year old, who was uninjured. Everything else is made up by the general "all bikers are in the right and all car drivers in the wrong" attitude that seems to take hold amongst this forum.

Reminds me of an experience when I was heading to the Isle of Skye with three of my mates one time. Sitting in traffic waiting for a safe place to pass when a Nissan Primera we'd just passed comes honking past the whole lot of us and the car in front on a blind bend.

He spent the next half hour ragging the arse off his car in front of us, taking overtakes you might have JUST chanced on the bike. Car was all over the shop, sliding about, rear wheels coming up off the road in corners and locking the brakes into bends. Eventually got a straight long enough to get past the bugger and carried on our way.

Pulled in for a fag break a fair bit along the road and said car pulls up behind us. The driver was bouncing off the walls and kept going on about what a good race we'd had and how he'd always wanted to mix it with some motorbikes etc. He seemed somewhat crestfallen when we told him we were just sitting back far enough so we wouldn't get tangled in the crash. Waiting until a long enough bit of road presented itself so we could pass without going anywhere near him.

Actually, that was probably the worst display of driving I have ever seen, bar none. The guy certainly wasn't the full shilling either, he was either manic or whizzed off his nut. How he didn't have a head-on I don't know to this day.

He certainly had no regard whatsoever for the safety of himself and others. Worth bearing in mind if you ever decide to take someone on.

Or could it be a bloke who's worked bloody hard all his life, earnt himself a few quid, bought a nice car, and the mental bike rider pulled out on the roundabout and embeded himself into the passanger door?

But at the same time you buy a fast car or bike your not hooning it all the time. Got a sports bike but went for a 2 hours cruise last night, not hooned once....
