Your quote is partly done by your area. If you've moved to an area bennetts computer tells them is more dodgey than your last then you pay more.

They think your bike is more likely to be stolen from your new address. Thumbs Up

well its kind of strange because i checked our database on both area postcodes you sent me. it turns out (as my company rates the area) that your old address has a higher rating than your new address.
out of 11-99 (99 worst area) your old address scores 36.
your new area scores 27.

now i know all insurers will rate areas differently but to charge you an extra £1000 is pure lunacy, the area ratings will differ but i doubt very much they will differ that much.

hope this helps.

You are 18... What more can i say... I think tesco's are doing a special offer on lube atm... Bend over and take it until you can accumulate enough NCB...

Edit: The way i read the original thread they have upped his insurance from £950 TO £1000, a £50 increase... If they have whacked another £1000 on top you are getting royally fucked, and look into the above lube special offer or you gonna have one raw ass in the morning...

try hrinsurance.co.uk in future seem very good for newer and younger riders.. bennets wanted £850 for me to insure my 1st bike (cbr125r) and hr asked for all of .... £180 BIG difference (btw i was 24 have top bollox and had only a CBT at the time)

Even now I have my licence and a 600 bennets still quote 25% more than hr (been riding 8 months now) only looked to change as with hr the restrictions are a little evil.. can't add another rider which is a slight pain!

if yer policy comes up for renewal i'd strongly advise a good shop around!

oh and as everyone has said area comes into it lots!
I recently moved from a dodgy part of bristol to a lovely part of lincoln... saved me £75 a year on a £330 policy Thumbs Up

I did. It wasn't your maths Wink

Bennetts are pants, learn from it and don't go with them again.

Insurance quotes generally make no sense whatsoever. However I have found that 'garaged' does make a difference.

Excluding the 20 quid admin fee, you've got a 3% increase on your policy, for moving into a dodgy area. I'd just forget about it.

If your bike is nicked and was not in a garage, but you told your insurers it was, you'd likely not see a penny. It's a chance you take.

The higher the excess, the lower the premium. But remember that the excess is what you have to pay out yourself, before you see a penny from them.

tghe amount the bikes worth rarely comesintop it, my bike was £550, but I valued it at £750. Don't say it's garaged when It aint because that will be a factor in your policy and if it's nicked, they may not pay out if you declared it wrong. you should declare it at your new adress, as it will be reg'd with DVLA at your new adress etc..

Your 125cc Honda has lost £300 in eight months? I'd seriously doubt it.

You got a rough first quote, stick with it and then come September ring round all of the firms - theres a good list on the Honda Owners Club site. When you get a good quote tell the others and they will break their backs trying to beat it.

You should be able tyo get a lot better than a grand, unless we are talking fully comprehensive. It seems wrong you are paying nearly the full value of the Bike in Insurance each year...
